"What!?...no!...no, we're not doing this again!" Lax exclaimed, his voice rising in frustration.

Nimue swiftly raised her hand, silencing him.

Lax's expression remained unconvinced.

"Look at your state, Nimue..." His voice dropped to a whisper, laced with concern.

"I told her the same thing. You're not exactly in top shape to take on a Sylax."

Aria muttered under her breath

"Not helping..."

Nimue rolled her eyes at Aria before turning to Kael, her eyes pleading.

"Kael?..." She clutched his hand; his body was cold, radiating the characteristic vampire chill.

Kael's eyes met hers, then quickly looked away, his brow furrowed.

"I-I don't know, man... I've never seen anything like this before."

Nimue's grip on his hand tightened.

"C'mon....your theory...remember? What if it's true? I can't let my mate die like that. You know the torment I would go through..."

Kael's expression faltered, his voice laced with doubt.

"What if I was wrong...seeing this now...he's a Sylax, a fuckin' Sylax, Nimue. And I'm sure we all have read that Sylax don't mate or have mates."

Nimue's face fell, her determination wavering for a moment.

She moved to Xavier, her expression hopeful.

"Xavier?..." Her voice was tinged with desperation.

Xavier's deep voice cut through the tension.

"It's a chance to do something for our parents. Let's think of it as us helping."

Lax's eyes widened in surprise.

"You're in this?!"

He turned to Xavier, whose expression didn't waver, his gaze steadfast.

Xavier remained silent, his unwavering gaze speaking volumes...

After much convincing, they finally agreed...

"Can't believe I'm actually going to face off a Sylax..." Kael said nervously, his voice trembling as fear crept into his eyes.

Nimue gripped his shoulder reassuringly, her touch radiating warmth and confidence.

"I won't let anything happen to either of you...besides we are not facing him off.. we're going to help him..he needs us"

Lax's bitterness lingered. "Xavier, you better keep a good eye on Nimue since you agreed to this in the first place."

Aria intervened, her gentle touch softening Lax's scowl. "Don't be bitter, Lax."

"Any last words?" Lax asked, as they formed a circle, hands clasped together.

"Last words?" Kael snorted, attempting humor.

"Uh, yes...I don't think anyone's going to survive this."

Lax's skepticism deepened.

Nimue's voice rang out... "We will... c'mon guys be positive for once"

Kael shrugged, nonchalance masking his fear.

"Well, last words...I die a hero!"

Aria chuckled, her laughter warm.

" The world's prolly going extinct no one's gon remember you Kael" Aria said

"Still, my last breath as a hero...plus I'm fighting a fuckin' Sylax! If I survive this, everyone will hear my story!"

Kael's chatter lightened the atmosphere, easing tension.

"Last words...well...I don't have any," Aria shrugged.

"Lax?"

"Uh, last words...this is a stupid idea!" Lax thundered, before Aria stepped on his foot.

He glared at her, mock offense dancing in his eyes.

"Uh, Xavier?" Aria's eyes locked with his, their connection sparking.

Xavier's calm reply sent Aria's cheeks flushing.

"I like you, Aria."

Gasps filled the air, surprise mingling with delight.

"Alright!" Kael laughed.

Their first step was to move away from prying eyes...(Their parents)

"Aria, teleport us to somewhere more concealed," Nimue instructed.

Aria nodded and brought her hands together, a glowing blue orb forming.

They vanished and reappeared at a windswept forest edge.

"You chose here of all places, Aria?" Lax asked, battling the gusts.

"I didn't have anywhere in mind...I just poofed us outta there" Aria replied, stumbling backward.

The wind howled, whipping hair into frenzy.

"What now?" Nimue yelled above the wind, shielding her face.

Suddenly, flames encircled them, casting flickering shadows.

"What was that?!" Aria shrieked.

"A dragon?" Lax answered back, scanning their surroundings frantically.

Asher dropped from the sky behind them, his descent swift...

"Asher..."
