_POV: AT VALMORTH'S CHAMBER_
Forsythe meticulously licked the dagger clean of Asher's blood before handing it back to Valmorth. The air was thick with tension as Valmorth's silent anger simmered beneath the surface. He carefully returned the dagger to its tube box, his movements deliberate.
The room fell silent, heavy with anticipation. Minutes ticked by, and Asher remained unresponsive.
"He's taking too long, Forsythe,"
Lady Geneva spoke up, her heels clicking against the stone floor as she paced the chamber.
Lord Halvort added, "It takes a normal vampire to awaken within a minute..."
Valmorth's gaze never wavered from Forsythe, who stood frozen, his eyes fixed on something – or someone – beyond the wall. Valmorth's footsteps echoed through the chamber as he approached Forsythe with calculated slowness.
"Plan B, my lord?" Valmorth whispered, his voice barely audible, his lips curling into a sly smirk.
Forsythe's expression remained unreadable, his focus still fixed on the unseen presence.
The tension hung in the air...
Forsythe inhaled deeply, his chest rising and falling, as they turned to face Asher on the slab. The air was heavy with anticipation, thickening the silence.
Suddenly, the building began shaking violently, threatening to crumble at any moment. Dust rained down, and torches flickered wildly.
"Guess he's getting up now,"
Valmorth said, a sly smile spreading across his face, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
Forsythe's expression remained unwavering, his eyes fixed intently on Asher. Lord Halvort and Lady Geneva struggled to maintain their composure, their faces pale amidst the chaos.
Asher's eyes snapped open, his back arching off the slab as black magic swirled around him, tendrils snaking through the air...
"I think this was a bad idea!"
Lord Halvort yelled,His voice barely audible over the howling wind that rattled the stone walls.
"You're thinking now?!" Callisto retorted, his voice laced with panic, as the gusts sent his hair whipping around his face.
Lord Forsythe raised his hand, palm facing downward, and tapped the floor with his finger, conjuring a protective shield around himself. The air shimmered, solidifying into an invisible barrier...
Valmorth, however, defied the turbulent air, his determination driving him toward Asher. His dark cloak billowed behind him, like wings.
"What are you doing?!" Callisto shouted, his eyes wide with alarm.
"V-Valmorth?!" Lord Halvort yelled, alarm etched on his face, his brow furrowed.
Valmorth's every step toward Asher was a battle against the tempestuous wind, but he pressed on, his boots scraping against the stone floor.
As his hand reached for Asher, he exclaimed, "Y-yes..."
A blinding light burst forth from Asher, sending the group flying – including Forsythe, who crashed into the walls and out, the sound of crumbling stone echoing through the chamber.
Asher's magic resonated throughout Tenebrous and Ashwood, earth quake like , causing the ground to tremble...leaving cracks
