Queen Lyrebird's fireball hurtled toward Forsythe, but he dodged it weakly, his eyes sunken and his face pale. "What did you do?!" she cried out, her voice trembling with rage and sorrow.
Forsythe's eyes welled up with tears as he struggled to speak. "What do you want to hear, Lyrebird?!...what!?" he yelled, his voice cracking under the weight of his guilt.
"That I killed both my daughters and my wife by accident?!"
he continued, his words pouring out like a confession. "That I wasn't a good father and didn't try to help my daughter when she got possessed by my carelessness?"
His voice broke, and he stumbled backward, as if the weight of his past bore down on him.
Queen Lyrebird's expression hardened. "Well, see where your carelessness has landed you, Forsythe!"
The silence was deafening,Queen Lyrebird dropped the bombshell.
Queen Lyrebird's words cut deep. "That boy...whose innocence you took, who's little sanity you whisked away....is your grandson!"
" Tell me...if you knew would you still commit such an act?!"
Forsythe's face contorted in anguish.
"He is the formation from dark magic of that Orb that you made!" Queen Lyrebird's voice dripped with venom.
"You didn't try to save her; instead, you hurled her over a cliff! What kind of person are you?"
Her words echoed through the forest, each one a dagger to Forsythe's soul.
"I wanted to!" Forsythe yelled back, his eyes wild with desperation.
"But you didn't," Queen Lyrebird spat, her tone a razor-sharp rebuke.
Forsythe's body shook, his knees buckling under the weight of his guilt.
Gasps filled the air. Forsythe's eyes widened, his face ashen. He stumbled, his legs buckling beneath him.
"S-stop" he stuttered, his body shaking violently as he struggled to comprehend the revelation.
Queen Lyrebird closed in, her voice low and menacing.
"You created the Sothic Orb, embedding dark magic within it. An experiment gone wrong, wasn't it?"
Forsythe's face crumbled. "I didn't mean to...it was an accident..."
Queen Lyrebird's words dripped with venom.
"Remember the man you killed, the girl you sought? That was Imara."
Forsythe's eyes bulged. "How do you know all this?!" he yelled, his mind reeling.
Amidst the chaos, Nimue and the others reeled from the revelation. Aria rushed to Nimue's side, concern etched on her face.
"I need your help with something..i" Nimue whispered to Aria, her eyes locked on the unfolding drama.
"Don't....hope it's not what I'm thinking Nimue" aria's eyes widened
Nimue's expression turned pleading, her eyes locking onto Aria's.
"Come on! You know we can't," Aria exclaimed, her voice laced with concern.
"Your parents, specifically your mother, would kill you if they found out."
"I have to try," Nimue insisted, her jaw set. "I can help him."
"In your state?" Aria countered, her brow furrowed. "No, you'd just be a weak, helpless feast for him."
Nimue's face fell, but she persisted. "But—"
Aria cut her off, her tone firm. "No, Nimue! Did you see his eyes? Asher's not there anymore!"
Nimue's voice remained resolute. "He is! I know it."
Aria studied Nimue's expression, searching for answers. "What's your deal with him, anyway?"
Nimue's voice dropped to a whisper. "I-I can't explain."
Aria raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Well, then, we'll both sit put till our parents figure something out."
But Nimue's resolve remained unwavering.
"Alright...I think Kael's theory's wrong," Nimue said, "but he said we are mates."
Her words trailed off as her eyes widened in shock. "No way...mated to a Sylax? I read they never have mates."
Nimue nodded, a hint of determination in her voice. "Me too...but I won't dwell on it."
Aria's expression softened, concern etched on her face. "You shouldn't...I don't think Asher's going to survive, though."
Nimue's voice trembled, her words barely audible. "But I need to try. Please, Aria, please."
Aria hesitated, then nodded resolutely. "Alright, fine. We'll have to inform Lax."
Her gaze turned thoughtful. "Though it'll be difficult to convince him."
Nimue's determination grew. "Kael and Xavier too. We need all the help we can get."
Aria nodded, her jaw set...
