"Hey, Orm, I got you..." Lingling said, instantly putting one arm around Orm's shoulders.

"Lingling , I don't like big rides. The height makes me anxious. Omyyyy Goooodd,,,." Orm mumbled.

"Okay now is not the time to be exclaiming in that exaggerated expression, babe, but I think I got your point." Lingling assured her,

Orm nodded, her eyes still shut tight. If she heard the endearment she didn't have the presence of mind to react to it

"Okay, tell me what you need. Do you want to get off? we can signal to them to let us get off on the round down..." Lingling suggested

"No I don't think they just stop it after a round Lingling!" Orm said.

"What do you need? I'm here!" Lingling said

"Hold me" Orm said.

"Willingly" Lingling said with a chuckle, as she tightened her arm around Orm's shoulders and the other around her front, over Orm's folded arms held so tight in front of her.

"Now's not the time to fool around Lingling!" Orm scolded.

"I'm not, I'm not, I promise" Lingling said, her face so close to Orm 's ear, she didn't have to speak too loud. And Orm was shocked at the reaction it caused for her, even when she was so anxious about the ride, she felt an instant sense of security hearing Lingling say those words, even though she knew Lingling couldn't do anything to save her if her irrational fear of the car detaching from the apparatus came true

"Hey hey, where's your mind?" Lingling asked.

"It's squeaking, why is it squeaking?" Orm said.

"It's not gonna break" Lingling said

"How do you know that?" Lingling asked

"I just do. Trust me okay" Lingling said softly.

Orm nodded.

"I got you" Lingling said again

The car they were in was nearing the top and was slowing down, and Lingling could see the sun grazing the horizon in the west.

"Orm ... I know you're scared.. But the view..." Lingling began

"I don't wanna open my eyes" Orm said.

Lingling lightly brushed her thumb on Orm's hands, in a soothing motion "Okay... can I describe the view to you? Can you try and imagine it?"

Orm nodded in the affirmative at that.

"The sky's purple and orange, just like the kind you see in paintings, and the sun looks like this orange ball of fire, just teasing the horizon... and all the crowds we saw below, they're all gone.. Its just.. You.. me.. And this mesmerizing view..."

Orm's face looked relaxed.

"Why aren't we moving?" she asked then when she realized they'd stopped.

"I'm suspecting someone got sick and they're helping them out." Lingling said.

"Okay"

"Do you wanna get out once we're down?" Lingling asked

Orm seemed thoughtful for a moment, then she said.
