Today 20th of October 2024, today we w see some small significant advances today in a couple of areas. And today it has been 100% confirmed that North Korean troops are now fighting for Russia in the war against Ukraine. But still they are unlikely to impact any of the fronts just yet. And also no advances today in the Kursk incursion!
Today we will start in the central Donbas towards the Pokorovsk offensive, where we see the last major settlement before Pokorovsk, Selydove is at high risk of encirclement as the Russians have been able to out flank the defensive Ukrainian forces and they have captured major road ways to Selydove. And we can officially say that Selydove is semi encircled from this point. However Ukrainian forces remain predominant in this area. As they are desperately attempting to stop the Russian advance towards the city of Pokorovsk. Casualties remain high on both sides. However a significant portion of land was captured by the Russians earlier today as a small salient just south of the offensive. Except they continue to slowly withdraw from high risk areas and territories that are "not strategically important." Except we can still say that the Ukrainians are expecting more men to arrive to further halt the advance.
Moving to the southern front, Russians have made some small advances towards small villages called Katerynivka and have taken roughly ⅕ of the urban territory. And not much further has happened on that front. So lastly today we move to Kup'yans'k where the Russians are perilously advancing towards the city but they have made some small advances again near Syn'kyvka where they are planning to take the village and continue the advance without disruption. They goal is to take Kup'yans'k as they have stationed a garrison and a major artillery brigade to stop the Russian attacks. But they have made limited effectiveness. And so lately that is all what we have for today. Below are the casualties.
