23rd October Chasiv Yar defence collapsed

Today October 23rd 2024, we will see some major advances in the Northern Donbas area and also on the central part of the front. As Russians today have made significant progress in capturing the city of Chasiv Yar. After the lines of defence have fallen apart. Let's zoom in on the part we was briefly talking about...

Northern Donbas, outside the city of Bakhmut we see that the Russians have made a huge advance today and the Ukrainian forces could not bare the brunt of the Meat grinder. And eventually the first major line of defense has fallen and now the Russian troops have been able to enter the outskirts of the city at a relatively low casualty rate according to the worried Ukrainian MOD. And since then the Russians have no sign of slowing down. It is now down to either the Ukrainian reserves to help to the front or for the current Ukrainian defenders to reestablish a new defensive line further back into the city. But still this battle will see some intense urban combat and possibly maybe higher casualties then the battle of Bakhmut. Still we must wait for the time to come for this battle that has just started.

Moving a little further down south towards the main central Donbas area, we can see that the Pokorovsk offensive still has major momentum but the Ukrainians are beginning to slow the Russians down as new men arrive to the front. But still the Russian army has taken significant land gains and has taken more territory outside the town of Maksymilyanivka. And towards the ever so tightening situation in Selydove, the Russians have made minimal advances today on the major roads and supply lines. But still, intense fighting continues to defend Selydove from a Russian encirclement. But still Selydove holds strong holding against the sheer weight of the Kremlin. And on top of that there have been some small advances on the southern area of the Pokorovsk offensive and they have only made small advances not enough to be anything problematic.

Moving to North eastern Ukraine, Russian troops again have crossed large retreated areas of Ukrainian territory and they have been able to approach around 30km² in this direction perilously approaching the major towns and villages nearby. And also on the Kursk front it's a relative stalemate with a small Ukrainian advance in the west of the incursion. And that is all what had happened there so far. And lastly we shall come to South eastern Ukraine, with the long gone fallen fortified town of Vuheldar. They have made some small flanked advances that havent caused much problem for the Ukrainians to deal with and they continue to hold the defence and slowly retreating from their positions.
