Hello for all again today, we will cover today's advances for the 22nd of October 2024. And today there has been some significant fighting and advances mainly in the Donbas area and where they were on multiple areas of the front but now towards the Pokorovsk offensive, the Russians are now close to capturing Selydove who has been holding the line for a over 2 months.
We first move to the central Donbas area where Russian troops have been able to advance further towards Selydove and have begun to pressure the city with both an encirclement maneuver and also heavy artillery shelling. But still today we have no reports of ant signs of Ukrainian forces attempting a retreat or counterattack. But still the Kremlin has been able to advance further down the main northern road and are beginning to pressure the settlement of Selydove. The last supply road is under tough defence and the path to withdrawal is beginning to close. As the Russians continue to tighten the Ukrainians in Selydove the area has become logistically encircled for the Ukrainians but still their physical front still remains in a semi encircled position.
Just south of the Pokorovsk offensive, the Russians have also been able to capture another settlement and a long thin strip of land. However Ukrainian forces have been able to retreat with relatively mild losses. And the Ukrainians are preparing a new defensive line further back if anymore dangerous attacks happen. But still the Russian forces have been able to make a decent advance and continue the slow advance for long as they physically can. Recruiting and conscription has helped the numbers increase but still, they are poorly trained and organised so many dont know the important needs of combat. And again the Russians also made a small advance further onto the high ground and are now moving the frontlines away from the town of Maksymilyanivka.
Unfortunately not too much today people but still there have been decent advances for the Russians and are now putting Selydove at a dangerous position. And Ukrainians are constantly bringing up to fighters and volunteers who many have a similar experience problem with the Russian conscripts. But as so, here are the casualty reports for today.
Russian MOD - 1,140 UAF
Ukrainian MOD - 1,350 RAF
Guys, we maybe seeing a balance change in the casualties as Ukraine is starting to suffer less casualties then Russia. So we will see the next few days to confirm the patterns are correct. That's all for today see you tomorrow.
