It was evening

It was evening.

The little room was quiet except for the twinkling music box that was playing a familiar, loving melody through the air.

Although it was such a quiet sound, it was enough to block out the never ending beeps of the medical machines.

Taehyun laid on his left, hands folded beneath his face, eyes not looking anywhere, just listening to the theme and melody as he thought.

How much I wish to be outside on a meadow without fearing for my life underneath the sun, like that picnic scene in the second movie.

Back when Taehyun was still in high school, and before he was admitted, everybody was in a craze about the latest Star Wars movie.

He'd never seen any of them; after all, DVDs were expensive, and renting them on TV cost money too.

That didn't mean he wasn't curious about them though, especially when everyone kept saying it was filled with tension, so much tragedy, and that they got answers to the original three movies released thirty years ago.

And just to his luck, one of his classmates threw an evening marathon that weekend where they, and I kid you not, watched every movie available on DVD in the original order.

Taehyun couldn't believe he watched TV for over ten hours in one sitting, and his eyes definitely stung afterwards, but it was worth it.

Like the storyline?

He's read many books before with intense and creative storylines, but not one such as this. He liked the lore of Star Wars so much that he begged his guardian to let him go to the movies, and after some puppy eyes, she bought tickets for both of them.

Needless to say, Taehyun left the movie theater bawling from the ending. And that's where he officially became a fan of this franchise.

This was also the only time Taehyun got along with a few people, as they had a debate on who the best couple in the six movies was.

Taehyun's vote went immediately to Anakin and Padmé, which was a 1 to 22 ratio, but it's not like he really cared either.

He loved their love story more, and maybe it also had to do with the love theme composed by the legendary John Williams himself that added to it.

That exact melody was playing from his music box as the door opened to reveal a woman in her late thirties, carrying bags of Chinese takeout.

"Hi Taehyun," she greeted him.

The ravenette glanced up.

"Hi Nayeon."

Im Nayeon entered the hospital room, placing the bags of food on the table.

"Doc called. He said I should visit you, so I got some of your favorite food."

"Thanks."

Nayeon walked around the bed to hold Taehyun's IV in place as the boy climbed out of the sheets, trudging towards his chair.
