"You must really like having my Laptop right now, don't you?" Soobin laughed, picking one snack bag off the shelf.

Taehyun's giggle came through his phone.

["Yup! Gotta make sure you get my favorite snacks."]

"And thank goodness that this iPhone came out this year where I could download Skype," the brunette muttered under his breath.

He held the plastic bag in front of his phone screen, so that Taehyun could see the brand on it.

"Is this it?"

["Yep!"]

"How many of these do you want?"

["Ten."]

"Kang Taehyun, think of my wallet!"

The ravenette let out another round of mischievous giggles.

["Sorry. You can get me two."]

"Alright. I'll head back now."

["Good timing, the nurses are here again,"] Taehyun sighed.

"Good luck."

["Thank you Hyung."]

Soobin hung up the phone, and that was when he realized that—

"Excuse me sir?"

— someone had been watching him for a couple minutes.

"Huh?"

Startled, Soobin turned to the side, coming face to face with a young woman. She seemed to be in her early thirties at most, had hazelnut brown hair tied back into a ponytail with some front strands loose, and had large eyes, giving her a soft look. An oddly familiar face, he must admit.

"I'm sorry to bother you but..."

She seemed hesitant— nervous almost.

"What is it ma'am?" Soobin politely asked, sensing her discomfort and wanting to thaw the ice.

The woman before him noticed, and straightened her back.

"Were you speaking with someone named Kang Taehyun?"

Soobin took a step back.

"I-I'm sorry I... I probably am confusing you right now. It's just... my son who I haven't seen in many many years has the same name as him."

Oh... my...

It finally clicked for Soobin, why she seemed so familiar.

"Are you Taehyun's mother?"

Cautious, Soobin showed the woman before him a photo of the ravenette. As she looked at him, she felt her heart drop to her stomach.
