It was humid.

At least that was what Soobin thought to himself as he rumbled down the streets of Yeosu in the bus, looking out of the window at the ocean harbor city.

Not only was it humid, but it was also a gray overcast day, the smell of rain hanging in the air, giving the ocean waves lapping against the fishermen boats down by the port a greenish color, with occasional splashes of white foam in between.

A small smile crossed the nineteen year old's face, despite being sweaty and having the first few buttons of his shirt unbuttoned, as the air conditioner was broken in the bus, and the temperatures of mid August most certainly were doing nothing but rising day by day.

"Next stop, Yeocheon JeonNam Hospital," the robotic voice announced over the mini loudspeakers positioned by the windows.

Soobin reflexively stood up to press the stop button, signaling the bus driver that somebody was planning to get off.

Moments later, the wheels of the bus rolled slower and slower until they came to a halt, and the doors hissed open.

"Off you go," the bus driver said.

"Thank you," Soobin smiled, tossing a few extra wons into the miniature wicker basket sitting next to the bus driver's blackberry mobile phone.

She gave him a nod of thanks.

"Have a good day," she decided to greet him.

"You too."

Soobin stepped off the vehicle, letting out a fresh breath of air as he stared up and down at the concrete building before him.

So. Here begins a new chapter of my life.

At nineteen years old, you would assume that someone like Choi Soobin, a certified late 80s kid, would just be getting started with adult life, beginning with applying for college, attending it, and maybe then start looking for a job.

Had everything gone differently in his life, Soobin would most definitely be like the graduating high school class of 2007.

Instead, he was standing in front of his new work place: Yeocheon JeonNam Hospital.

The lady at the front desk read through the many sheets of paper nicely clipped together in a pink folder with focused eyes, adjusting her reading glasses from time to time, while Soobin stood there, hands folded over his black leather bag.

"Choi Soobin," she began.

He nodded.

"Born December 5th 1987, class of 2005 graduate at Yeoyang High School, currently a third year student at Chonnam University, highest ranking student of your year... what brings you here?"

Soobin took a quick moment to glance at her name tag, reading Choi Yujin.

"The professors of our campus offered the doctors in training the opportunity to work at different hospitals to gain additional knowledge, experience and some money, especially for the ones who are having trouble paying college fees momentarily."
