"Do you believe in miracles?"
"I stopped believing in them after I got sick. All I can do is hope and pray that I will live another day."
"Then I will hope and pray for a miracle to happen to you."

His lips were sealed.
"Taehyun?"
He shook his head like a child, a pout forming on his lips.
"Nuh uh."
Soobin couldn't help the little giggle escaping him.
"Come on, you need to eat something!"
"Why do I have to eat porridge?"
"Doctor's orders."
Taehyun refused to budge, the same sulking expression on his face while glaring directly at the nurse before him.
Soobin sighed.
"Look Taehyun, I know you hate needles and blood tests, but I deemed it necessary for the doctors to check if you potentially have it."
I should've not taken that book with me.
Taehyun woke up that morning to find a bunch of medical staff gathered in the room, unpacking the syringes and capsules they'll need for a blood test, and then later asking him if he could take a dump in the bathroom for stool testing.
Which baffled the younger, to say the least.
Of course he asked what they were doing, and the response was this:
"Nurse Soobin asked Doctor Jeon to get you tested for cholera due to your heart rate."
It did not take Taehyun very long to understand how Soobin even came up with the idea to get him tested for cholera.
Soobin dipped the spoon in the warm bowl of porridge, raising the utensil to Taehyun's lips.
"Come on, I'll feed you today since your arm hurts a lot, okay?"
That definitely was true— after multiple blood samples that leave you feeling like a sack, of course Taehyun was tired.
"Fine."
Taehyun opened his mouth slightly, showing Soobin his admittedly adorable array of baby fang teeth. He watched endearingly as the mush disappeared between Taehyun's lips, and nearly burst out laughing seeing the grimace on the ravenette's face as he swallowed.
"It tastes like paper!" Taehyun protested.
"Sorry, they didn't allow me to add cinnamon on it to make it more bearable. I promise you'll get something better tomorrow."
Taehyun huffed.
"I better."
Soobin didn't say anything, simply spoon feeding the younger. He was quite close to him like this, which gave Taehyun a perfect view of the silvery necklace dangling from Soobin's neck. It was simple, only a chain and one little charm on it, in the shape of the cross.
"Your necklace is pretty," Taehyun remarked.
"Oh, thank you."
Soobin smiled as he reached his hand up to touch it, feeling the cool metal brush against his fingers.
