"Do you believe in miracles?"
"I stopped believing in them after I got sick. All I can do is hope and pray that I will live another day."
"Then I will hope and pray for a miracle to happen to you."

August was gradually slipping away.
Taehyun could tell with how little the sun was coming out these days, replaced with the pitter-patter of rain pelting against the window pane.
It was a relaxing sound as he read his book, immersed into the story that was nearing its end.
Meanwhile, Soobin sat at the little table, typing up the last bits of his medical paper that had to be submitted tomorrow.
He was the kind of person that wanted to be finished at least a day earlier after all.
With a sigh, Taehyun turned the last page of his book, reading the final words on there, before shutting the cover shut.
"That's that I guess."
Soobin looked up, saving his work.
"Hmm?"
Taehyun gestured to the pile of books underneath his nightstand.
"I've read them all."
"Oh... I could head to the library and find you new ones."
The ravenette shook his head.
"No thanks. I... I kinda am getting tired of reading."
Soobin's brows knitted together, and stood up to sit on the side of Taehyun's bed. Something told him he'd like to have him nearby as they chat.
"Why?"
Taehyun exhaled, blowing some strands of his black hair away.
"Well, it makes my eyesight worse."
"And?"
"I... I wish I could do the things the characters of my books can do. They... They can run around in the sun without fear. They have friends. They can go around with their daily life— t-they even have one— a-and all I do is sit in this stupid hospital bed, living off IV fluids, pills and o-other medication..."
Taehyun didn't even realize he had started crying, the tears beginning to flow out of his eyes and spill down his cheeks.
"... a-and constantly being brought in f-for check-ups, instead of going to school, a-and it's been going on for two years!!"
"Shh shh, easy there Taehyun..." Soobin murmured, bringing the smaller boy into a hug.
The trembling ravenette softly sobbed as he buried his head into Soobin's shoulder, letting his nurse wrap both strong arms around his fragile frame, careful to not accidentally block the IV lines.
Soobin traced circles on Taehyun's spine, feeling the boy shiver slightly. Not because he was cold, but because Soobin's touch gave him goosebumps.
"I'm so sorry Taehyun... I couldn't ever imagine living the life you live, and I admire you for being so strong nevertheless."
