Xander's POV
I couldn't focus on anything,the thoughts of Avery filled my mind. I wanted to check up on her just to make sure she's fine.
Coming out of my office,I saw her heading towards the printer when Mark bumped into her shoulder.
She winced in pain, holding her shoulder. She rushed to the washroom with a stain of blood on her sleeve.
It reminded me of the scar she had on her shoulder the other time. I went back to my office not able to resist the temptation of checking the CCTV camera.
I frowned when I saw her. She was dressing her wound. That scar looked old The last time I saw it so why is it bleeding again, I questioned myself.
I couldn't control my anger and I ended up questioning her which made her furious.
Gio and I were at our spot. "Chill man, you're drinking a bit too much",he said.
"I didn't mean to hurt her, I made her cry". That doesn't mean you should drink too much,we have to find out who did that to her",Gio suggested.
That's great, I'll.... My phone rang interrupting me. "Go on",Gio told me to answer the phone.
It was Avery's friend."We need to talk",she said. Alright I'll send you an address.
"Who was it? Gio questioned. It was Avery's friend. She wants to talk,I answered.
"We may get the necessary information from her", Gio said.
Twenty minutes later, I spotted her at the door and waved as she came over.
"Hi!"she greeted. "Do you want anything to drink?" Gio offered. "No thanks, I don't have time for that " she huffed.
"So tell me, what's going on? I asked shifting her attention towards me.
"Okay so it's about my friend, Avery". "What is wrong with her",I quickly became worried.
"She's being abused by her dad" she sighed. After we got wasted the other day,her dad beat her up and the worst part is, he used hot iron to burn her shoulder", she said.
WTF!? I shouted as people turned to look at me. "Calm down bro", Gio hissed.
"You are telling me to calm down?? Didn't you hear what she said? I shouted at Gio.
I took in deep breaths as I turned to Linder. "Why isn't Avery saying anything? I questioned.
That's because, she's scared of her dad. I even suggested that we run away but she insisted.
Her dad runs a mafia group so he can easily find her and kill her instantly.
I run my hands through my hair. The worst thing is... Linder's said.
What?! I was running out of patience. "Avery is getting engaged tomorrow", she said.
WTF!!!.. I was fuming with anger."Xander De Santis"! Gio shouted. You are getting too much attention.
"What do you want me to do huh!! "I just want you to calm down ok, calm down I've got a plan " Gio whispered. Alright then.
