Xander's POV

I slumped in my office chair, lost in thought, my chin cradled in the palm of my hand.

The weight of my memories threatened to consume me. Suddenly, the door swung open without warning, and my heart sank.

Only one person dared enter my office with such blatant disregard.

My father.

The familiar scent of his expensive cologne wafted in, a painful reminder of our painful past.

He walked across the room, dropping into the chair opposite me with an air of entitlement.

His long legs stretched out, crossing at the ankles on my desk, as if claiming ownership.

"Why are you back?" I spat, venom dripping from my voice, my words laced with years of resentment.

He chuckled, a low, menacing sound that made my skin crawl. "Don't I have the right to check on my son?"

My anger boiled over, and I slammed my fist on the desk. "Don't call me that!" I shouted, the words tearing from my throat like a wounded animal.

"You lost that right a long time ago."

He ignored my outburst, his expression unreadable. "How have you been?"

I glared, my eyes burning with unshed tears. "That's none of your business," I snapped, my voice as cold as ever.

He glanced at his watch, his movements deliberate and calculated. "I have an important meeting to attend. "We'll meet again soon."

As he stood to leave, I blocked his path, my voice barely above a whisper. "Wait! Don't fucking set foot in here again, got it?"

My eyes locked onto his, a desperate plea escaping my lips. "Get out of my life!"

His chuckle sent shivers down my spine. "We'll see about that," he said, and walked out, leaving me shattered.

Gio rushed to my side, concern etched on his face. "Hey, calm down, man.

Take some deep breaths." His voice was a gentle anchor in the storm.

I nodded, inhaling and exhaling loudly, fighting to regain control.

Just as I began to calm down, my father burst back in, his words like a knife to the gut.

"Almost forgot - you've got a corpse to dispose of in your bathroom," he said with a chuckle, and left again.

I felt the floor give way beneath me. "Fuck....."

Gio's steady hand on my shoulder kept me upright.
