Chapter 35: Dead weight

Xaden's Pov

Range was the only thing that I was feeling right now. I wanted to kill the person who put my beautiful woman in this situation. I was more mad at myself because I was not there to protect her like I promised her that I would.

How would she trust me again when I tell her I will always protect her when I couldn't? How will she ever trust a word that I promise her? I can't believe I couldn't keep a single promise to her. Though I know I was in a coma, protecting her was my responsibility.

Jay was driving the car, Kai was in the passenger seat and I was at the back with Scarlet laying on my lap. I didn't want to think about it but... I felt that her weight was becoming... dead weight. I carried too many dead bodies to know what a dead weight was like, and right now I was feeling that again.

Her face, her arms, her back, her legs, everywhere was blood. She was loosing so much fucking blood that I was scared we will not make it home on time. I couldn't take her to the hospital, I was taking her home and getting four doctors for her.

The doctor told me I needed to get blood from somewhere, so I called every guy in my mafia and told them to get in my fucking house right now because their blood was needed for their Donna.

Declan sent me video footage of a bunch of guys already there and giving blood. Fucking hell, I needed to fix things between Declan too. But my priority was now Scarlet, I have never seen her in this state before and I was losing my goddamn mind.

I looked down on me and there was blood on my shirt also, it was my blood and Scarlet's. I opened up my stitches but I don't care because I saved my love. Or so I thought.

Declan sent me another video footage of a few days ago. I looked at the date and as far as I knew I was in a coma at that time. I didn't get the chance to see the video and Declan sent me a text.

Declan: I don't know what situation she is in right now, but I thought this would bring up your mood a bit. You will see how strong of a woman she is and was when you were not there. She will get through this as well.

I have no idea what he was talking about, I didn't get the chance to open the video because Jay informed us that we got to our house. I grabbed her bridal style and I really hope that we got here on time and I was not actually losing her in my arms.

I am vowing, I will kill every single person who was involved in this bullshit. No matter who it is. Kai opened the door for me and I got inside. Every one of my guys were here, there were a lot of people in here. One person was giving blood and the other was leaving, the other was entering the room, it was a cycle of people getting in giving blood and getting out. I was always grateful for them but now I am more grateful.

I ran inside and placed her on the bed, the doctors were already here. As I placed her on the bed, Kai placed his hand on my shoulder and said, "You need to see a doctor too for that stitches."

I looked at him and said, "I can't leave her here. I don't care about the stitches."

"For fucks sake, you two are the same." Kai said, and I looked at him. He was looking straight in my eyes and said again, "We need you, she needs you. Get your shit together and figure out what happened to her."

Kai was right I needed to get stuff done and see what the fuck happened when I was in a coma. I fetched out my phone, texted Liam to get Alice and come to my office. "Kai, come to my office and text Jay too." I said, he nodded his head and fetched out his phone too.
