Chapter 8

Kingston's pov

I waited back when all the others went into the meeting room because I needed to see Jayla. We made love and then she ran off to comfort another man and it was driving me crazy. I loved this beautiful Fae woman, but I am not so sure she feels the same way.

I couldn't think straight when she was around. I needed to check in with my pack and see how my Beta is running things. I felt bad for bringing them into a war that we honestly had no place in, but I believed in Jayla and what she stood for. I wanted to bring all the realms together and finally have some peace.

My pack agreed with me and that was why they stood with her on this. I was a fair leader and gave everyone a choice, I hated having to leave them but to keep them safe until the fight they knew I needed to. I just hoped I wasn't making a huge mistake. One that would cost me everything.

Jayla came in and it looked as if she had been crying. She looked behind her once then turned around and smiled at me. I walked up to her and gave her a hug because I knew she needed it. I loved her enough that if I had to, I would try and share her. I just needed to be a part of her life.

"Jayla, are you ok?"

"I will thank you Kingston for everything."

"There's no need to thank me I will always be here for you. I spoke to my pack and told them the plan they stand behind you and my Beta has taken over as Alpha until I can return."

"I am so sorry I got you involved in all of this."

"This is not on you. All you are trying to do is make peace within all the realms and that is why we stand with you. Now let's go inform everyone else of our plan."

I put my hand on her back and gently helped her make that first step toward the meeting room. I wanted to give her strength and let her know that she could do this. She was the Fae Queen, and no one was going to stop her from doing what she set out to do.

Jayla's pov

I walked into the room with Kingston at my side feeling strong and confident. With Kingston, I always knew where he stood but with everyone else, I wasn't so sure. The fact that Jayden didn't follow me back inside says a lot. I know I hurt him and maybe this time it went too far. I think this time he is leaving, and he won't be back. I wanted him here more like I needed him at my side, but he deserves better than what I am doing to him.

I was going to go in and tell everyone the plan that Lea, Kingston, and I had come up with. I was going to give every one of them the chance to decide if they wanted to come with me or head back to their realms. I didn't want any harm to come to the men or their realms. I feared what my mother would do to them. I didn't fear for myself but for the men that I have grown very close to.

"Hey everyone, I know a lot is going on and I haven't had a chance to talk to all of you since you've gotten here. First off, I wanted you all to know I am not the one who sent for you to come here. I think it was my mother. She wants the thrown back and will do anything to get it. By now you all know what went on with all of you on that trip. I am not going to make excuses or apologize. Things happened and I don't regret any of it."

I heard a noise behind me, so I turned to look and saw a very pissed-off Jayden coming in. He looked around then looked down. He didn't seem happy to be here and didn't move to sit down instead he came over and stood by me. I looked into his eyes, and they were pitch black. I could tell he was fighting with something in his mind.

"Jayden is everything ok?" I asked.

"I just got a call from a good friend of mine in my realm it appears my father and your mother have now teamed up. She is there in my dream now making war plans."

This was all my fault. If only I had let Jayden go his father wouldn't be helping my mother to take me down. I had to leave because now all I was doing was causing problems. I didn't want to give up my realm, but I knew I would need to so that they would be safe until I could come up with a plan. I didn't know who I could trust here.

"Thank you for letting me know this Jayden. I am going to ask each one of you if you want to come with me once I tell you, my plan. You can go back to your realms, and I will understand. I am not giving up on being Queen, but I realize I can't stay here in this realm because I don't know who we can trust and who we can't. I need to come up with a plan and being here just isn't safe for anyone."

"Where exactly are you planning on going?" Jovani asked.

I knew this was going to be the part that some of them just wouldn't be able to handle. The realm I wanted to run off to was known as the Earth realm. No mystical creature other than Tobias that we know of has ever gone to the human world. I knew Lea as well as I could charm the realm so that we could blend in, and no one would ever come looking for us there. It was the safest place we could go.

"The human realm," I said quietly.

"Did you just say the human realm?" Liam asked her.

"Yes, It's the only place we can go where no one would come looking for us. There we can come up with a plan and get others to help us with this fight. Anyone we can trust can come there and be safe."

"Exactly how are we all going to be safe around these humans?" Drake asked.

"Well, I as well as Lea can charm the whole realm and we can blend in."

"Is that what you did to us?" Liam asked.

I was hurt and offended that Liam would even ask me that. Did he believe I would do that? Did everyone else think that as well? I felt as if everything in my life was unraveling. The guys I thought I could trust now seemed to be questioning my every move. I felt as if I was being betrayed once again. I didn't know what I was going to do.
