Chapter 19

Kingston's pov

I growled at Jayla's mother and got her up in a corner where she couldn't escape. This woman was not going to run and let innocent people fight this fight for her. I wouldn't allow it. She started this and it was going to be her death that ended it. I wasn't going to take her life even though I wanted to, but I will hold her here until Jayla is ready for her.

I was going to stay in my wolf form because that was when I was at my strongest. Lea came over and stood right in front of Jena and her mother RayLynn and told me she had this for me to go on and get in on the fight. She didn't have to tell me twice. I had all this pent-up anger and today was the perfect day to unleash it.

The dragon bitch that has the hots for Jayden screamed out and then all hell broke loose. Fighting was going everywhere you looked. I at first tried to look around for our group but they were lost in a sea of blur. I had to trust in their abilities and focus on the task at hand. A fae man came at me and I hesitated at first because I didn't want to hurt an innocent that was tricked into fighting, but he wasn't going to go without a fight. I just had to do what needed to be done and ask for forgiveness later.

He came after me with a sword and easily blocked him. I got him down on the ground and went for his jugular. As I ripped out his throat and felt his warm sweet nectar of blood drip down my mouth, I felt a twinge of guilt. He closed his eyes and just like that he was gone. He would forever be trapped in the Nether now. I took a life I didn't feel good about, but it was a must here for us to survive.

RayLynn's pov

I looked around me at all the death and devastation and wondered why the hell I was here. What were we even fighting for? Jena lied to me about everything, and she wanted to just take off and save her ass. She lied to all of us and now everyone else was paying the price for it. I turned my back on my daughter and for what? A stupid power trip. This was all wrong. All this death was meaningless, and it needed to be stopped. Jena needed to be stopped. I was done following her.

I walked up to my daughter and just hugged her. I know she may never forgive me for this, but I was letting her know that I had her back. I loved my daughter, and I should have followed her and had her back this whole time. I had been friends with Jena for most of my life and she had never lied to me before that I had known of, so I trusted her, and it has now cost me everything.

Lea looked at me with utter shock and was confused by my hugging her. I know I made so many mistakes with her, but I won't stand back and allow anyone to hurt her. A dragon shifter tried coming for my daughter and I stepped in the way but my daughter being the powerful Fae and Witch that she is worked her magic, and he fell from the sky because the ceiling had been torn off the castle. This was once a place of beauty but no longer. Jena has ruined it like she did everything else.

Drake's pov

With being a leprechaun luck is supposed to follow me wherever I go and with so many of my brothers here supporting us we just couldn't lose. I felt all the luck and love swarming around us. I was glad that my Mena wasn't here and was away and safe. I could focus all my energy on the fight at hand and make sure I could keep my promise and make it back to her.

After this fight that was it. I was going back to my realm with my girl and the fighting and everything else was done for me. I was going to be a husband and a father and that was my focus. I wanted to be the best for Mena because that's what she deserved.

I wasn't as powerful a fighter as the others, but I was good at projecting illusions, so I did that making it look like more and more fighters were piling in hopefully leaving the people around Gypsy and Jena in fear. Some have already waved a symbolic white flag and took off because this just wasn't their fight. Once they realized what this was about, they wanted no part of it. I don't blame them this wasn't about peace anymore it was a fight for power and Jena was losing the fight. No one wanted to be on the losing side once this was all said and done.
