The past

Jayla's pov

I woke up and looked around, but Tobias wasn't there, I could feel that he was close by. Today was going to be crazy so I knew I needed to get up shower and be prepared for anything. I feared what was going to happen between Kingston and Jayden. I didn't want to lose Jayden because I was falling in love with him. I didn't mean for it to happen it just did.

I walked out into the dining room to get some breakfast and talk to Lea when I saw Jayden sitting at the table with none other than Tobias, Lea, and Kingston. I almost turned back around to go into my office, but they all looked up at once. The look on Tobias' face was amusement and I knew in that moment that he was not the man I thought he was. Jayden looked so hurt and that damn near killed me. Lea looked confused and ready to bail. Kingston looked pissed as if he were ready to rip my head off.

How many more of the guys are going to show up? I had a feeling my mother was somehow behind all of this but if that were true that meant someone here was going back and feeding her information. Now I felt as if I didn't know who I could trust anymore. I thought I could trust Tobias but now I'm not so sure I can see he looks as if he's getting joy from my misery. Lea is a friend or well we became friends, but her mother is also a good friend of my mother's so now I am second guessing that even.

"Hey everyone, I guess you all started breakfast without me," I said with a nervous laugh.

"Jayla, we need to talk now!" Kingston roared at me.

I jumped because he scared me, and I started to get up from the table and do as he wished but then I thought about it and said fuck it. I poured some orange juice made my plate and dug in. Once again, all eyes were on me but this time I didn't even look up. I just sat there eating and taking my sweet damn time. No man was going to rush me.

"I said we need to talk now Jayla did you not hear me?" Kingston asked.

"I heard you all right and need I remind you that I am the Queen, and I can have you thrown in the dungeon for talking to me like that. You know where the door is you can see yourself out of it."

Everyone looked at me in shock because I said what I said and then finished my food like I didn't have a care in the world. I was done with people thinking they could walk all over me. I told off Kingston and next is going to be Tobias and then my mother. I deserved to be Queen and already I was making a difference I will be damned if I let anyone take that away from me. This is my crown, and I will fight for it until the very end.

"Does anyone else have anything to say?"

I waited to give anyone else a chance to speak up. They all just looked at me Jayden got up and I was dreading what he might say because I did care about him and what he thought of me. He just walked up to me, smiled, and gave me a kiss on the cheek before walking off to his bedroom and giving me the freedom to do what needed to be done. I moved from the table and looked back at everyone.

"OK if everyone is done then we can get on with business. Kingston if you want to talk then I suggest you get a move on because I don't have all day to cater to you."

He looked at me like he wanted to say something but instead shut his mouth and just followed me. Lea smiled at me her megawatt smile and I knew she was proud of me and someone that I could trust. Tobias vanished as if he weren't there at all, but I knew he would be hiding in the shadows ready to come out and cause trouble at any moment. I now see him for who he truly is.

Once we got into my office, I barely had enough time to lock the door behind us before Kingston had me up against the door kissing me with such force as if he were trying to claim me. These kisses were different than before. They were needy as if they needed reassurance that I wanted him. I wasn't sure how I felt or what I wanted at the moment my head and my heart were conflicting leaving me in total confusion.
