Chapter 16

Jayla's pov

All that night all of us called upon the ones we felt that we could trust and told them the plan. Shifters alike would be there to help us take on my mother and Jayden's crazy ass ex-fiancé. I started to feel more confident because there was no way I was going to allow them to win. I had too much riding on this. I wasn't going to lose anyone I loved.

I called someone and I wasn't sure if they would be on my side or not. I called my father and told him everything. If my mother had a weakness, I needed to know what it could be. To my surprise, my father took my side and said he would be there. I missed my father and felt we could trust him. If anyone knew how to take my mother down, it had to be him.

Micah wanted to come with us, but I told him I needed him here just in case someone tried coming here. With him knowing about the shifters I trusted that he could get others here in his realm to safety. Plus, I didn't need to worry about his safety with everything else I had going on.

Jovani, Jayden, and Kingston will be at the forefront of the fight, and I didn't like that one little bit, but I wasn't going to fight them on it because I trusted them and their abilities. Maxim, Drake, Hartley, Liam, and my father Javion will come after that, then Lea, Mena, and I will come along with everyone else that will stand with us. I was not going to be in the back I wanted my mother to look into my eyes as we all approached her and her new little minion.

I just hoped everyone we were counting on showed up and gave us a fighting chance to beat my mother and Gypsy otherwise I wasn't sure this was a fight we were going to win. Maxim told us that only a few of the Fae have turned against me everyone else is on our side. The entire Dragon realm except Gypsy's family is behind us. I just hope he isn't leading us straight into a trap.

My father was going to have us meet him at a safe house that he swore only he knew about so we would all be safe and better with the plan that we had. I couldn't wait to see him I missed him so much. After he left my mother, she kept him away from me, so we have missed out on a lot with each other.

I told him about Maxim and his sudden change of heart, and he told me to be careful with him, but he said a father's love knows no bounds and maybe the thought of something happening to his son because of something he helped start was just too much for him and now he needed to make things right. He said my mother had a way of manipulating people without them even knowing it was happening. He had a point so I will try and be a little more open to Jayden's father.

Lea opened a portal to the coordinates I gave her and one by one we went through. As I got through, I could tell everything within my realm had changed. It just had a different feeling to it. It was no longer my haven. It felt dark and I'll admit it made me feel a little intimidated. How could my mother do this to a place she claimed to love so much? Then again, she once claimed she loved me only to change and end up having this raging hatred for me. It was truly sad that it has come to this.

My father should have called this a compound instead of a safehouse. This place was huge and secure. I was surprised when he showed us around and I saw several different shifters were there. Many were Fae but also Dragons, werewolves, Mermen and mermaids, Centaurs, Hartley's whole vampire coven, as well as leprechauns. I felt so loved to have so many of them standing behind us. These weren't even the ones we expected here, just the shifters that my mother and Gypsy sent their minions after. They came here knowing my father would take them in and keep them safe. Hearing this made me so proud to be his daughter.

With everyone here and my guys feeling them in on the plan I started to feel my stress ease. I didn't feel so alone in this fight anymore. I talked to Drake and we both agreed we wanted to stay here and be safe. I was so happy for them. Tonight, I found out Mena was pregnant and no matter how bad she wanted to be a part of this fight I was not going to have it. I promised her that Drake would be safe and come back to her, but if she was there, he would worry more about her than he would himself. She finally agreed to stay behind.

After we had our plan down Drake and Mena went off to a room so they could spend some time together after they told everyone their happy news. I would do everything in my power to bring him back home to her and their unborn baby.

Lea and Hartley took off so they could also be alone before tomorrow, and I could sense they were nervous and scared. They didn't want to lose each other, and I knew if it came down to me or them, I would save them. I wanted my best friend to survive this, and I wanted the man she loves dearly to also survive. I wanted everyone to make it out of this alive but as I looked around at everyone, I knew not everyone would still be here tomorrow. This was a fight to the finish and not all of us were going to make it back. I am not ready to tell any of them goodbye.
