-Jasper's POV-

"you came", a sweet voice called out.

"I told you we would come get you. Did you really think we wouldn't?" Alice asked as Bennett exited the sports hall, walking toward us with his hair slightly tousled and a small smile on his face.

"No," Bennett responded firmly. He knew we'd be here, and that was good.

"So, how was it?" Alice asked.

"Alright, as it usually is," Bennett replied, his tone light and happy. If it wasn't for that tone, I might have mistaken it for sass. I wasn't entirely over his earlier pouting, and it took everything in me to hold back. I enjoyed it when Alice got sassy or teasing, but for some reason, the idea of Bennett doing the same didn't sit well with me. It excited me to think about 'grounding' Bennett, though he seemed much more susceptible to that possibility. Unlike Alice, who only played that part on special occasions, Bennett seemed made for it.

"That's good, I think," Alice said, her smile widening. "Now come on, we've got a ten-minute break before science, and we need you to have a drink and not just from your water bottle and then go to the bathroom."

Bennett looked confused at her direct approach. He clearly didn't think he needed either of those things, but Alice grabbed his hand, pulling him along the corridor before he could voice any objections.

I walked just behind them, watching the scene unfold with quiet satisfaction. Not only did I enjoy the thought of 'bossing' Bennett around, but it was also incredibly attractive seeing Alice take the lead. She knew exactly how much I liked this dynamic, and I was sure she had figured out that controlling Bennett, our new project, was just as appealing to me as it was to her.

As we made our way through the bustling school corridors, students passed us, their chatter filling the air like a steady hum. The faint smell of cleaning products and the sterile, familiar scent of the school hung around us. Bennett seemed to follow along without complaint, though I could sense his underlying confusion. He wasn't sure what Alice had planned for him, but he wasn't about to question it either.

Alice stopped us in front of a vending machine, her smile never wavering. "You like apple juice, don't you?" she asked, already knowing the answer.

"Yeah," Bennett mumbled, already digging into his bag, likely trying to find change for the drink. Before he could find any, I stepped forward, grabbing his arm gently. He froze, looking back at me in surprise, but I held his gaze calmly as Alice slid some coins into the machine.

"Here we go," Alice said, her voice light as the bottle dropped with a satisfying clink.

Bennett blinked, the confusion evident on his face. "You didn't have to—"

"Ah ah," Alice cut him off, lifting the bottle up to him. "Drink up. You need to get your sugar back up."

There was something about the way she spoke to him, the gentle authority in her tone, that made Bennett obey almost instantly. He hesitated for a second but then took the bottle, bringing it to his lips. Alice still held onto the cap, though, one of her little tricks to keep him dependent. I could see it happening: every time she did something for him, he became more tied to us, more used to relying on us for even the most minor things. It was subtle but effective.

As Bennett took a sip, Alice's eyes sparkled. "Tastes nice, Benny?" she asked sweetly.

"Mmhmm," Bennett hummed, nodding as he drank more of the juice. He didn't stop until about half the bottle was gone, but Alice wasn't satisfied.

"Come on, at least finish half," she urged, her voice a little firmer. Bennett didn't argue—he took another gulp without hesitation. He was getting better at following our lead, even if he wasn't aware of it yet.

After he finished, we started walking again, heading towards the bathrooms. Bennett didn't seem to need to go, but I wasn't about to give him the option to decline. He followed without complaint, just as we wanted.

While Bennett was inside, a familiar voice called out from behind us. "He doesn't talk back, does he?" Emmett's teasing tone broke the brief silence. I turned to see him lounging against the wall, his arms crossed and a smirk on his face. We knew he was listening in, but we didn't want Bennett to know, not yet.

"Not particularly," Alice responded, though her voice had a hint of amusement.

"Coming home tonight?" Emmett asked, clearly interested in what we were planning,

"We are," I replied. "We've got a library session to plan for tomorrow."

Emmett chuckled, shaking his head. "Busy, busy. And then dragging Carlisle and Esme out on Sunday for the big introduction. Nessie's coming too, by the way."

Alice's eyebrows raised in surprise. "Nessie? I didn't know she was that interested."

"Oh, you missed it," Emmett said with a laugh. "She's been insisting on it. Wants to see what the kid looks like, wont shut up about it."

Of course. I should've expected that. "We'll make sure she gets her chance," I replied, glancing over at Alice. This wouldn't complicate things too much. Just another factor to consider. At least Nessie's curiosity was a good sign. The more of the family that took an interest in Bennett, the better it would be for us when it came time to integrate him into our world.

"Thanks, Emmett," Alice said, waving him off. "But you better get out of here. Bennett doesn't need another unexpected run-in. We already had a bit of a mishap with Rosalie."

Emmett laughed, giving us a casual wave as he strolled away. Just in time, too, because Bennett emerged from the bathroom a moment later, looking as unbothered as ever.

As we walked, I couldn't help but think back to Emmett's comment about Bennett not talking back. That was something I appreciated more than I let on. Bennett didn't argue, didn't push back, and was soft in ways that Alice wasn't. Alice had her fire, her sass, but Bennett? He was malleable and easily guided. That's what made him different, what made him so tempting to control. But there was more to it than that, I realised.

Alice had already expressed her desires her intentions for a deeper, more physical relationship with Bennett. It didn't affect me the way I thought it might. I wasn't jealous, not really. Perhaps it was because Bennett was ours, not just hers or mine. The bond we shared with him made everything feel different. I wasn't into men, never had been, but with Bennett, I found myself considering the possibility. Maybe it was the mate bond making me think like this and, entertain the idea of something more with him.

Bennett was soft, almost feminine in his features which I admit was appealing. His delicate, boyish face was undeniably attractive in its own way. It didn't make me question my own preferences, but it did make the thought of getting closer to him more palatable. I wasn't entirely opposed to the idea of being intimate with him. After all, if he were to become one of us, he'd need to understand our dynamics. I was responsible for teaching him what Alice liked and guiding him through that part of his life. And if that meant getting physically involved, I wouldn't shy away from it. But I would always be the one in control. 'The man in the situation', as it were.

Alice was clearly more eager for that aspect of things, but I didn't mind. Watching her lead Bennett, seeing her gently push him toward us, it didn't bother me. If anything, it made me feel more at ease knowing we were on the same page.

"We're getting closer," I thought to myself as Bennett stepped beside us, his expression calm, unaware of the thoughts swirling in my head. There was a long road ahead, but every step brought us closer to having him as ours.

As we made our way to class, I glanced over at Alice, who caught my eye and smiled. Yes, we were getting closer. Soon enough, Bennett would be precisely where we needed him to be.
