August 20th, 2018:

I was sitting back in the same meeting room I'd last met with the company in after yet another terrible night's sleep.

"So, we've reviewed everything," the company CFO says, straightening out all the papers in front of him, "and this is what we propose," he says, handing over a fresh contract.

My lawyer takes it and starts reviewing it.

"We've lowered the salary seven percent, but we're offering half of the demanded sum up front and contractual bonuses of twenty-two percent, with a chance of more depending on how the group does," the CFO explains, "we feel like that is very fair and competitive counter".

"We've also decided to find you a nicer, safer apartment," Bang PD adds, "we're going to find the time to give you guys an extended break. And for every song you have credits in, we'll offer 25K upfront".

My lawyer hands me the contract and writes on his notepad that it was indeed a very good contract all in all. I give the contract a quick glance before looking back up at the line of men in front of me.

"I'll think it over and send you a reply soon," I said plainly, "thank you for giving it so much thought".

I sat up, taking the contract.

"Alright, please get back to us soon, we'd like all the contracts signed before the end of August," the CFO said, "I'll send a copy to your lawyer".

"That would be much appreciated," my lawyer said bowing his head.

We headed out leaving before management and I had my lawyers follow me to my studio so we could have a private place to talk.

"So, you think this is good?" I ask sitting down in my chair as they sit down on the couch.

"I think considering what you were asking, and knowing they couldn't really give it to you, I think this is a very positive and progressive counteroffer," the lawyer nods.

"Is a twenty-two percent bonus a lot for a bonus?" I ask completely clueless when it comes to these things.

"It's very good," the second lawyer nods, smiling a bit probably wishing he got such a bonus.

"And with the potential for it to go to twenty-seven is very, very good," my lawyer says, looking over the contract again.

"What if they just write it can go that high, but never do," I comment.

"They could, it's a possibility, but twenty-two is still extremely good," my lawyer explains, "especially considering they only reduced the initial number by seven percent".

"Could I counter for a five percent reduction," I say, knowing I was still being cheated out of a lot of money I was owed.
