People say I'm funny
And I laugh in return
Cause funny isn't what I am
Funny is what I've earned
It's every backhanded compliment I've brushed off
It's every recess I spent alone
It's every smile I've ever hidden behind
When someone makes a rude joke
Funny is the snide remarks
I make to hide my hurt
Funny isn't a coincidence
It's my response
To my hell on earth
Funny is me joking
That I could pull of the costumes
I see girls on Tik tok wear
Funny is the thought
That he could actually like me
Funny is the idea
That someone would ever actually like me
It's funny
Laugh
Laugh
Laugh at me
At my misfortune
At my mistakes
I've been doing it myself for years
Laughing like it doesn't hurt
Smiling like I don't wanna cry
And using all of your laughs
To hide behind
It's funny, really.
