The first thing I noticed when I woke up was the warmth beside me. I turned my head slowly, blinking against the soft morning light, and there he was—Aayansh, sleeping soundly, his face calm and peaceful. I could hardly believe it had been a week since our wedding. One week since my life had taken a turn I wasn’t expecting.

He looked so different when he slept, like all the hardness melted away, and he was just… a man. A man I was slowly getting to know. A man who had fallen for me from the first moment, but I… I wasn’t sure where my heart stood yet. It was strange, feeling something stir deep inside me, but I was scared to admit it. My past had taught me to be careful with my heart, to build walls around it, but Aayansh had a way of knocking down those walls, one brick at a time.

I smiled softly, watching him sleep for just a few moments longer before sliding out of bed carefully, not wanting to wake him.

I got fresh up and as I walked towards the dresser, the cool floor against my feet grounded me. I started brushing my hair, watching my reflection, trying to focus on my day ahead at Malhotra Industries. It was going to be my first day back since the wedding, and no one there even knew I was married yet.

I felt his gaze on me before I heard him. Aayansh stirred behind me, his eyes slowly opening as he looked at me with that lazy, sleepy grin. “Good morning, jaan,” he said, his voice deep and raspy.

“Good morning,” I replied, smiling despite myself, turning my attention back to the mirror.

“You’re leaving me already?” he teased, sitting up, running a hand through his messy hair.

“I have work,” I said simply, but I could feel his eyes on me, the way he always seemed to look at me like I was the only thing that mattered.

Can i hold!? Only if you are comfortable!? He said gently

I just hummed at him

A moment later, he was behind me, his arms wrapping around my waist as he rested his chin on my shoulder. “Do you really have to go?” he whispered, his voice low and playful. His lips brushed my ear, sending a shiver down my spine.

“Aayansh,” I sighed, trying to stay firm. “You know I have to get ready for the office. I’ve already been off for a week and you also have company to run.”

His grip on my waist tightened slightly. “But I just got used to having you around,” he murmured. Then, his hand reached for the sindoor on the dresser. I watched in the mirror as he gently filled my hairline with the red powder, marking me as his wife. The act felt… intimate, like he was claiming me, but in a way that made my heart race. I wasn’t sure if I was ready for this. For him.

                    AUTHOR’S POV

Saanvi hurried downstairs, feeling a mix of emotions swirling inside her. The warmth of Aayansh’s touch lingered, but she quickly pushed it aside as she joined his family. It was strange, this new life. She had grown up with just her brother and her mom. Now, she was part of this big, noisy family, and though they were loving and warm, it was still a lot to take in but she loves it.
