The warmth of Aayansh’s embrace lingered even as I reluctantly pulled away, stretching as the morning sun bathed the room in golden light. Just as I was about to get up, the familiar sound of paws padding against the floor caught my attention.
Max trotted into the room, tail wagging, his eyes sparkling with excitement. He made a beeline for me, jumping onto the bed and nudging my hand with his nose.
“Good morning, Max,” I said with a laugh, scratching behind his ears. “Someone’s energetic today.”
Aayansh groaned dramatically, sitting up and watching the scene with a mock frown. “Of course, he gets all the attention as soon as he walks in.”
Max barked happily, completely ignoring Aayansh as he settled down beside me, his head resting on my lap.
“Looks like someone’s jealous,” I teased, glancing over at Aayansh with a smirk.
He raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms. “Jealous? Of Max? Never.”
“Oh really?” I said, grinning as I continued to pet Max. “Because it looks like you’ve been replaced.”
Aayansh scoffed, leaning closer. “You think I’m going to let a dog steal my spot? Max, move over.”
Max responded by wagging his tail and snuggling even closer to me.
“Unbelievable,” Aayansh muttered, shaking his head. “I brought him into this house, and this is how he repays me.”
I laughed, enjoying the playful banter. “Face it, Aayansh. Max and I have a special bond.”
“Special bond, huh?” he said, narrowing his eyes playfully. “Alright, let’s see how long this bond lasts when I bribe him with treats.”
At the word “treats,” Max perked up, his ears twitching as he turned to Aayansh with eager eyes.
“Traitor,” I said, laughing as Max jumped off the bed and followed Aayansh toward the door.
Aayansh glanced back, smirking. “Looks like I won this round.”
I shook my head, still laughing as I got up to start the day.

After carefully draping the maroon saree, I stood in front of the mirror, adjusting the pleats. The gold border shimmered faintly in the morning light, and for once, I felt at ease. Today, I’d decided to stay home, choosing family over the usual chaos of the office.
As I admired my reflection, I caught sight of Aayansh leaning against the doorframe. His eyes were dark, intense, and fixed entirely on me.
“You’re not going to the office?” he asked, his voice already low and husky.
I shook my head, smoothing the saree over my waist. “No, I thought I’d spend the day the family.”
He smirked, stepping closer. “Good decision.”
