Ruhi's anxiety had been building up for days. She couldn't shake off Aditya's threat, and the weight of her secret was suffocating her. Taking a deep breath, she decided to confess to Viren.

As she entered the living room, Viren looked up from his book, his eyes questioning.

"Ruhi, what's wrong?" Viren asked, noticing her tense expression. "You've been distant lately."

Ruhi's voice trembled. "Bhaiya, I need to tell you something. Something I should have told you a long time ago."

Viren's expression turned serious, his book forgotten.

"What is it, Ruhi?" he encouraged, his tone gentle.

Ruhi's words spilled out in a rush. "I tried to bribe a junior officer when I was caught speeding. I know it was wrong, and I'm so sorry"

Tears welled up in her eyes as she awaited Viren's reaction.

But to her surprise, Viren's expression remained calm.

"I know, Ruhi," he said softly.

Ruhi's eyes widened. "You know?"

Viren nodded. "Pradyuman told me. Because Pradyuman has already made you learn from your mistake in his way, and he is also like an elder brother to you, I decided to respect his decision by not interfering."

Ruhi felt a mix of relief and surprise. She had expected anger, not understanding.

"But why did Pradyuman tell you?" Ruhi asked.

Viren's smile was faint. "He wanted me to be aware of the situation, but also to let you learn from your mistake without my interference."

Ruhi's gratitude toward Pradyuman swelled.

Ruhi continued about "how that junior officer Aditya is trying to blackmail her now and told everything starting from the call to her meeting with Aditya at cafe"

But Viren's expression changed, his voice firm.

"Whatt ! why you met Aditya alone without telling anyone

"Whatt ! why you met Aditya alone without telling anyone. That was reckless and dangerous, Ruhi."

Ruhi's head dropped in shame.

"I know, Bhaiya. I wasn't thinking. I just wanted to fix the problem," Ruhi explained.

Viren's anger was palpable.

"I thought you understood the importance of safety and responsibility," Viren said, his voice laced with disappointment. "What if something had happened to you?"

Ruhi apologized profusely, tears streaming down her face.

"I'm sorry, Bhaiya. I was stupid and selfish. It won't happen again."

Viren's silence was deafening.

For the rest of the evening, Viren gave Ruhi the cold shoulder.

Ruhi realized that her actions had consequences.

She vowed to be more mindful and responsible.

As night fell, Ruhi approached Viren, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Bhaiya, I'm really sorry. Please forgive me and don't start  hating me"

Viren's expression remained stern.

"I don't hate you you, Ruhi, but I need time to process this," Viren said.

Ruhi nodded, understanding.

As she retreated to her room, Ruhi knew she had to earn back Viren's trust.

But would Viren's anger subside?

Or would their relationship take time to heal?

To be continued...
