Carla and Lisa

Part 49

Leading up to the wedding everything was busy. Work for both Carla and Lisa was busy. Betsy had her last piece of uni work to hand in and last minute wedding preparation.

But their family all dropped their things and ran into Carla's office when they got a message in the family group chat. First it was Betsy running into Carla's office.

"Mum!"

"Swain. I'm in a meeting." Carla whispered to her daughter. Smiling awkwardly at the person on her laptop. "Mum," Betsy stared gritting her teeth. Trying to talk to her with her eyes. "Betsy" Carla replied.  Lisa then ran into the office. "Have you seen. Kate and the baby are home" she then paused when she saw Carla was in a meeting. She put her hand up to say sorry.

"Sorry can you just hold on a second" she said to her client. "She's got the baby?" Both of her girls nod. "Jenna I'm so sorry I'm going to have to rearrange this meeting a family thing has come up" Carla smiled apologetically.

"Of course. It seems like your colleagues are excited" Jenna smiled. "Yeah my daughter and wife are ecstatic" Carla smiled. Jenna smiled. "Ahh well Carla I never knew. We will talk more about your family next time" the woman smiled. "Of course" Carla replied quickly waving bye. Shutting down her laptop and heading to Lisa's car.

Carla finally opened the group chat when Lisa set off. Smiling at the message. *me and baby are home. Come visit us!*

There were messages from Ryan and Nina saying they will visit after work and from Michelle stating she will be getting the first plane over. Josh and Hayden sent their love and said they can't wait to meet her at the wedding next week. Jenny had said she will be visiting as soon as daisy can take over from the pub.

Lisa pulled into the carpark for the flat where Kate lives they all got out the car very excited.

Lisa grabbed Carla's hand as they were walking to the lift of the flats. The let them selves into Kate's apartment like usual and was greeted by the sight of  Kate in the arm chair holding a baby.

"Hey" they all whispered

Kate looked up and smiled at them all.
"Hey guys. Meet Freya" she smiled. The three of them quickly surrounded her smiling. "Freya. This is your auntie Carla, auntie Lisa and big cousin Betsy.

"Kate she is beautiful" Carla smiled. Putting a hand on her sisters shoulder. "She's adorable" Lisa said. "Auntie Kate she is the cutest"

They all sat on the sofa Betsy went off to make them all a cup of tea.

"I can't believe you surprised us like this" Carla told her sister. "I know. It all happened so quickly. She was born 2 days ago. It was the first chance I've had to send you all a message." Kate explained.

"I think we will let you off" Lisa joked. Betsy walked in with her tea's "so who's holding her first?" Kate questioned. Betsy and Lisa looked to Carla. Who smiled and held her arms out. Kate put the baby in her arms and Carla was suddenly at peace. Lisa looked over and gave the baby her hand. "She's perfect" Carla smiled. Looking at Lisa who gave her a smile.

After a while she passed the baby over to Lisa. Who smiled down at the little girl. Reflecting back on when Betsy was born.  She looked at Carla who wrapped her arm around Lisa. Kissing her cheek.

Finally Betsy got her cuddle. "Oh Freya. I'm going to teach you how to get into the most trouble" she smiled. "Our mums won't know what's hit them" she whispered.

Which caused her mothers and her aunt to laugh. "Oi you. She's only 3 days old and your planning trouble" Kate told her off.

Even though there was 18 years between them Betsy had planned how she was going to be the best big cousins. She had plans for Freya. The future kids of Josh and when she finally meets susie.

"You guys got here very quick I must say" Kate laughed when she was feeding Freya. "Well me and bets where at the factory." Carla started.

"I was in Roy's getting their lunch when I ran out of there" Lisa laughed.

A little while later. After getting  family photo with Freya to put up in the house they bid farewell to Kate and Freya. Promising to see them very soon for the wedding.

A few hours later Betsy walked into the living room to see her mums crying. "Hey what's happened?" Betsy asked her mums. So wiped away their own tears. Lisa quickly rewrapping Carla in her arms. "We were just talking about family" Carla smiled. The girl looked at them confused. "What we could have had. Which is very dangerous" Carla continued. Lisa kissed the side of her head.

"Youse aren't having second thoughts on the wedding are you?" Betsy questioned.

"God no!" Lisa assured her daughter. Lisa gave a lover a squeeze. "I was pregnant. A while ago. With a little girl." Carla informed her daughter. Whose face dropped. "I lost her before her due date"

"I little girl. I'm a big sister?" Betsy asked. "You would have been yeah" Carla smiled sadly. "No I am a big sister. She is part of you. She is your daughter" Betsy told her mother. Who smiled at her.  "You're right" Betsy cuddled up to Carla's side.

"I wish you would have told me sooner" Betsy whispered after a while. "We could have celebrated her"

"Sorry bets. You and mum are the only people I've ever opened up to about her. When I saw mum and you holding Freya. It just made me. Well us think of what could have been. She could have made us the family of 4."

Betsy gave her mum a hug before offering to get some red out of the fridge.

"What I would give to hear my little girl call you mum leese." Carla whispered.

"I would have and do love her like my own. Like you do Betsy. What I would give to give you your baby. A baby. You're the best mum to Bets. You have been from the very beginning." Lisa replied.

"She's easy to love. If we were ten years younger I would give you all the kids you want" Carla told Lisa. "I know you would have darling." Lisa smiled tucking the brunettes hair behind her ears.

Carla gave her lover a kiss. "Love you" she whispered. "Love you too" Lisa smiled.

"Oi what about me" Betsy demanded as she walked back into the room. "See this is why it's a good job we don't have more kids. Our 18 year old is as demanding as a 8 year old" Carla laughed.

Betsy gave them a pout. "Give over we love you too don't we Car" Lisa smiled. "More than anything in this world" the brunette replied.
