Carla and Lisa

Part 39

Carla's arm dropped. She was shocked to say the least. "I'm sorry say that again" she stuttered. "Lisa. She's my sister" Carla looked blank for a moment. "What do you mean she's your sister. Lisa told me she had a brother but said you was with your mum and dad when they had their big fall out. Over her being gay!" Carla was angry for her fiancée.

"I know! Trust me Carla I know. It's the biggest regret of my life. I didn't have the guts she did back then to come out to our parents. But I did. And trust me. When I say I regret it all" the man had become agitated. "Do you know how much she misses you and talks about you" Carla had a tear in her she at all the pain her wife to be had been through over the years. "I don't know what to say" Carla was lost for words. "I never knew how to get in contact with her when I cut ties with our parents. I tried but she was untraceable" he explained.

"There is a reason..." Carla started to argue then she stopped. "I want to hate you Josh so much for hurting Lisa. But I know the type of hate and.." Carla had to stop for a moment as she had tears falling down her eyes. Pushing them away.

Before she could carry on her phone rang. She saw it was her two girls. She took a breath and answered the phone in the bar. Putting a hand on joshes arm telling him to wait for her.

"Hey you two" she smiled when she saw her two girls faces waving at them. "Your still out?" Betsy asked noticing she's not in bed. "No. I'm sat with a friend. We met a few years ago at one of these week." Carla explained. "Hey don't let us keep you babe" Lisa smiled. "No! Tell me how your days been. Have they been behaving at the factory bets?"

"They have been as good as gold. Think they are more afraid of me than you" the girl laughed. "Why am I not surprised. I knew you would do well helping Sarah run the place" Carla smiled lovingly. "Leese how's it been at the station I hope we've got no new enemies" Carla laughed.

"Nope all good it's been quite so far. Kits had enough of me moping around though I miss you" Lisa pouted. "I miss you too. Both of you." Carla smiled. "And tell kit he's got 3 more days of you like this" Carla chuckled.

"I will call you both in the morning yeah" Carla smiled after a moment of small chat and jokes. The blondes nodded "I love you both" Carla smiled as she blew a kiss. "We love you too" the both said waving. Both having the biggest grin on their faces. "Car. Message me when you're in bed." Lisa said quickly as Carla watched her stand and walk away from Betsy. "I have a something what I think you will like to tell you" Lisa smiled.

"Ok I will. I love you" Carla smiled.

"I love you too. Can't wait for you to be home" Lisa smiled as Carla ended the call. The brunette looked up and remembered Josh was sat next to her.

"Betsy is Lisa's daughter?" The man questioned realising he had a niece. "She is yeah." Carla smiled. "Wow did you both adopt her?" He smiled. "No. Lisa and her wife had Betsy. Lisa carried her" Carla smiled.

"Oh right of course it was Becky wasn't it that she went out with. What happened there?" Josh questioned interested in his older sisters life. "Ermm she died. 5 years ago" Carla said sadly. "Oh sorry" Josh said his smile disappearing. "Josh love you need to speak to Lisa. She will want to know your ok. She cries in my arms at night wondering what happened to her baby brother. I will help. You're welcome to come back to Manchester with me on Friday. Bring your husband with you. I'm not going to lie I don't know how Lisa will feel about it all. But I will help you book a hotel or you can stay over in our spare room. If my sister hasn't decided to visit." Carla rambled on.

"Thank you Carla seriously. It means a lot. I will call Hayden tonight see if he will meet us here. He can get a train from Derby anytime. Shall we meet tomorrow morning. I know we have become in laws in the past half an hour. But I will I might die of Boredom if you don't let me sit with you" the man said adding on drama to his speech"

"Of course. See you at breakfast?" Carla offered. "See you then" he smiled. 

Carla didn't know what to do. Does she risk telling her everything and just make her stay away for tense. Especially because she can't comfort her in person. Or does she wait until she is there and risk Lisa being mad because she didn't tell her sooner.

She need to discuss this with Josh tomorrow. Right now she needs to pretend everything is ok whilst she FaceTimes her lover hoping her amazing detective skills aren't as good over the phone.

She called her when she got in the room figuring she can talk to her whilst she does her bedtime routine. Lisa answered the phone quickly. This time she was tucked up in bed. "Hey" Carla smiled to her lover. Sitting on the bed for a while. "Hey. Good day?" Lisa asked. "Yeah it was ok. A strange one but good" Carla smiled. "Oh how come" Lisa was intrigued. "Oh you know just seminars and that." Carla played off. "So what did you need to tell me" Carla questioned.

"Well. I wasn't going to tell you until you was home but after I saw the love you have in your eyes for Betsy even on FaceTime I had to tell you." Lisa started.

"Please I have this look in my eye for both of you." Carla argued. "You do. But there was just something about it when you was talking to her that made me fall in love with you all over again" Lisa told her. "God baby I want to be home. I miss you so much." Carla said with a tear in her eye. "I miss you too so much. I miss things I didn't know I would miss" Lisa was full of adoration. "God we are a pair" Carla laughed as she got up to put her pjs on that where very much stolen from Lisa. She got dressed as Lisa filled her in on what she missed. "So what did you want to tell me we got so soppy we go sidetracked" Carla asked after a while half way through taking her make up off.

"Last night Betsy called you mum" Lisa told her. This was the second time today Carla was shocked. "I didn't point it out she called you that and she said it twice. Then she said it again today over breakfast."

Carla didn't know what to say. After everything that had happened today this was the most shocking. "I think I miss herd you baby. Please say that again" Carla smiled. "Betsy called you mum. I don't know if it will stick but she most definitely called you mum" Lisa smiled. "God what do I have to be here I would be kissing you right now" Carla laughed.

"I know. When she said it I felt my heart grow. She has always said your her third mum. But the way you look after her and treat her with the respect and love you do. It was going to happen at some point." Lisa was happy. She missed Becky but she was happy that their family was expanding. "How do you feel about it?"

"Leese I'm so happy. If she never calls it me again that's it I will move on but the fact she thinks of me as her mum means everything to me". Carla smiled with half a face of make up on.

The women continued to talk about their news as well as things Carla had missed on the street in as little as 2 days. That night they fell asleep with their phones on the pillow next to them both unable to sleep without the thought of having each other by their side.
