It was the anniversary of Bex death today. Lisa woke up and decided to hold her girlfriend Close. This being the first with a new partner Lisa didn't know how to act. She knew she was sad but she also couldn't help but smile a little bit at the hair that has called out of Carla's bun or the little puffs she lets out in her sleep. So she just lay there.
Carla awoke after a while and smiled at her lover. Carla knew what day it was of course she did. She was ready to hold her two girls all day if she needed. She thought about the devastation and loss that had occurred to call them her girls. She lent over and kiss her lovers cheeks. Both not needing to say a word. They lay there a second with Cassie lay by their feet when Betsy came into their room to join them for a cuddle. Both moving apart letting her join. Lisa kissed the top of her daughter's head and joined her hands to Carla's. Carla's hands played with her hair giving her comfort.
Betsy never thought she would be the girl who lost her mum at such a young age yet her she is. She think her mumma would be happy that her mum and herself are happy. She also knows that she would love Carla. And wouldn't be mad at her for seeing Carla as her third mother figure.
The three of them lay there for a while enjoying each others company. Carla placed a kiss on Betsy's head and got up to make them breakfast.
She retired with toast in the three different ways they eat it and a cuppa for each of them.
After a moment of silence Lisa informed Carla they were going to the cemetery today to see bex. Carla has told the two of them that she would stay at home whilst they went to see her but they insisted that she must join them. She was their family now after all.
They made the journey to see bex. Carla insisted they had a moment alone. After a while she walked over to them and pulled them both into a hug.
Betsy introduced Carla to her mum and told her how amazing she is doing at looking after them both. Lisa held onto Carla a little tighter.
They said their goodbyes to their first love and left to go home. Carla dropped them at home and went to get a takeaway. She picked up both Lisa and Betsy a bunch of flowers from the florist on her way.
Both of them had tears in their eyes when Carla showed them the flowers. Lips pulled her in for a quick kiss.
They was sat watching tv when Lisa turned to her lover smiling. "What did I do to deserve you. You're the most wonderful and thoughtful person I have ever met. To me and to Betsy. It means a lot" Lisa told her playing with her lovers rings on her fingers.
"You deserve the world" Carla told her. Smiling pushing hair behind her ears. Lisa leans up and kisses her lover.
"Get a room!" Betsy joked as she walked out of her bedroom. "Sorry bets. You will get used to it one day" Lisa laughed at her daughter.
Betsy fed Cassie before placing the kitten on the women and told her to annoy them. Which caused the women to laugh and pet the kitten. She kissed the women good night both telling her they loved her and to speak to them if she needed to.
Both knowing that Betsy loved to speak about her mumma to them. Keeping her memory alive.
After a while they made their way to bed. Cassie made her self comfortable at their feet.
"Thank you for today again. I know I don't need to thank you but today was made into a day of celebration and remembering. Not a day of mourning" Lisa told her lover who had her arms wrapped around her.
"Thank you for letting me be involved. Bex was a big part of your life and I'm honored I get to remember her with you" Carla replied squeezing her lover tighter.
"Like we've spoken about your not replacing her your our next step in life and the fact you let us speak about her and want to remember her makes me love you so much more" Lisa had her head nuzzled in Carla's neck wanting to be close to her lover.
(I'm still fuming over the ao3 thing. At least acknowledge that it's my work...)
