Chapter 8: concert

PEETA POV:

We're all in a limo and i am running Katniss through what's going to happen. She's nodding along but then Annie fills in on a few things to. Soon her and Annie are having a convocation.

I glance over at Finnick. He's on his phone scrolling through Instagram. Unsociable.

This and the concert on Wednesday are the only concert this month. The next month I've got a concert in the first week. And then I have 2 the following week. The one on Wednesday is in a small hall in a little village called SouthBay. I love the small concerts in halls the most because I can really interact the crowd. And so can Annie, Finnick and Tyler. They have loads of fans at my concerts. While I'm singing they just get lost in crowds and take selfies and give autographs out. It's really nice. I like them concerts the most.

My phone pings and I look at it.
Finnick: does it still bother you that Katniss doesn't remember you?
Me: no.
finnick: you liar.
Me: there's nothing i can do.
Finnick: true. But..

I shut my phone off and put it away. Finnick puts his phone away and looks at me.
Just him saying that it's true makes me mad. I know it's true. I can't do anything.

"Peeta." Katniss whispers concerned. She has moved next to me in the limo and I looking at me worried.
"Yeah." I answered still half in my daydream.
"You look angry." She replies. "You okay?"
"Yeah." I respond and look at her.

"Peeta when I ask if your okay, it's not to be polite. It's to know if your alright so.." She says.
"I'm fine don't worry about it." I answer. She smiles.
"If there was anything wrong you'd tell me about it right?" She asks. I chuckle.
"Yes I would tell you. And you worry to much." She giggles and shuffles over the chairs and back next to Annie.

We're soon there and the driver opens the door. I step out and start smiling. Cameras start clicking, taking photos and filming. Microphones are thrown at me. Questions are shouted.

I hear Katniss and Annie start answering questions behind me. Tyler and cracking a joke with one of the reports as usual. And Finnick is just walking past the reporters. He's not really one for answering questions.

I start answering the questions that are being thrown at me. Most of them are about Katniss. I feel weird answering them.
"We understand your a bit protective over Katniss!" A reporter says.
"No I'm not.." I starts to speak but Katniss comes and stands beside me.
"He's Peeta. Always protective." She smiles and the reporters start laughing.

Katniss and I make a few more convocations with reporters and then we go inside.

Annie and Katniss are back stage. Annie is fixing some of the costumes for the back up dancers. I didn't want back up dancers but my manager insisted.

My names gets called when I feel someone wrap their arms around me. Katniss.

I turn to Face her. "Good luck." She says. Then Annie comes over and hugs me as well.

I go on stage and start to sing my first song which is a cover.

The crowd is screaming. I just wave a couple of girls scream there life has changed.

I keep glancing backstage making sure Katniss is still here. Ugh. What am I saying?

I sing some more of my songs from the recent album. Then I go down the steps and start walking through the crowd.

I do some signatures and some selfies. Then I go back to stage to sing my new song.

"Now no one has heard this song I wrote yet- apart from my manager of course." I say into the microphone.
