Chapter 14: coffee date?

KATNISS POV:

It's Tuesday and today is probably the worst day of my entire life.

I know I've just got to the capital, well I've actually been here for around to weeks, but I'm pretty knew.

And I know that I'm Katniss and like no one likes me as more then a friend. But I just want to hope that there is someone out there that will love me one day. I mean I have no one. I just want to believe that there is someone out there.

And when With Finnick and Annie wondering around school in love it just makes me sad. I'm sad because it reminds me that I'm not even close to having that.

Annie and Finnick won't stop kissing as well. They are kissing in the corridor and during English and music. Now luckily they are not in the same science class. But they are always around each other. Tyler is hanging out with Cara for the day. To be honest I would rather do the same but I'm not leaving Peeta.

It's soon lunchtime and I thought that we could all have a nice lunch. But it end up Annie and Finnick sitting on a small table facing each other.

Peeta and I soon got the message and ate lunch in the corridor. Well we ended up sitting at our lockers which were opposite each other. We just ate our lunch exchanged small chat here and there.

Once we finished Peeta takes our rubbish to the bin while I hack his locker. I hear the last tumblr click and the locker swings open. I put his bag in his locker the I shut it.

"Let's go." He smiles and puts his arm around my shoulders.
"Peeta no." I laugh. "People are gonna get the wrong impression about.. Us." He nods in agreement then we carry on walking through the corridors. Then Peeta gets a call. He excuses himself and runs off.

I wait there for a couple of minutes and say hi to a couple of people who walk by and recognise me from the magazines. I wait a bit longer then I walk off.

I find myself in the library. I need to get a book for my history assessment anyway. But just as I reach up and grab the book someone tickles me. I turn around and see Cara's brother, Gale.
"Hey." He says.
"Uh, hi." I stutter.
"Would you wanna have coffee with me sometime?" He asks and pulls out a Starbucks cup with my name on it. I nod and take the cup.
"Yes. Yes I will. Thank you." He smiles. I examine the cup more closely and it has multicoloured spots all over it.
"This must have taken you ages." I mumble. And hug him.
"So how about today after school." He says and starts walking backward.
"Yeah I will meet you at my locker?"
He nod then turns around.

I take the heavy history information book and walk over to the other side of school and dump it in my locker. I look at my watch. I have 45 minutes to kill. Then Annie appears and asks if I wanna go to the dance studio. At first it think she's joking, but oh no.

I'm not changed into a lose crop top and leggings. Annie has got me doing loads of stretches. Turns out I am naturally flexible. I could do the splits and stuff. I didn't even know I could do it.
"Now what song should we dance to?" Annie flicks through the music on her iPod then puts a song on.

"Hip hop or contemporary?" She asks. We have a little debate for a bit before we decide to contemporary. We design a routine and I add in some steps.

We buy fruit frappes from the canteen and sit down. My watch says we have 10 minutes.
"I have to admit that was really nice." I tell Annie.
"Your seriously good. Are you sure you have never done contemporary dance before?" She asks. I shake my head.
"How about next time we try a different style of dance?" I ask.
"Yeah sure. What style?"
"How about the one where your only the material that's dangling from the ceiling?" Annie stares at me in utter shocks. My describing skills are very bad.

She things for a minute. "Oh you me Ariel dancing?" I nod. "Okay."

That's when Finnick comes walking over. He kisses Annie on the head then sits next to her.
"As I was saying. You should ask this girl Spencer. She's in your History actually."
"When do you have history?" Asks Finnick.
"Um last lesson why?" I reply.
"Well why don't you stay after school with her and I will pick you up later." He suggests.

"Oh I can't." I start smiling now. "I may have a date."
"WHAT?!" Annie yells and spits whatever she has in her mouth out.
"Oo. Who's it with?" Peeta says cheerily as he takes a seat next to me.
"Oh I'm not giving that away." I reply.
"Please! For me!" Annie whines.
"For me?" Finnick begs.
"For us?" Peeta ads.

I'm just about to reply when the bell goes.
"Saves by the bell." I mutter under my breath and the. Go to my next lesson.

Turns out Spencer is actually on my table. She's really nice and couldn't believe that I was talking to her. We decided that she would help me tomorrow lunchtime.
"Hey what did you get for question 9?" She asks me.
"Um.." I really can't be bothered to read it all out as its 4 paragraphs so I just slide my book across the worktop. She reads it then thanks me and gives it back.

Soon the bell goes. The teacher is busy talking when everyone just gets up and leaves.
I run through the hallways until I reach my Locker. I stand there catching my breath then I take up my brush from my bag. Ince I'm don't with the brush I put it away. That's when gale turns up.

We jump into his jet black car and drive to Starbucks.
"Thank you." I say as he opens the door for me.

I walk in and look at the posters with all the food orders. Gale orders then I do. Once we pay for our drinks we take a seat at the window.
"So where you from?" I ask trying to make a conversation.
"Um I'm from district 12. I moved here four years ago because my mum is a journalist." I nod along. "Yeah she travels all over the world. Currently she's in China."
"Why are you not with her?" He seems surprised by my question.
"Well I liked it here. And I hate moving around so I bought a place here and I think I'm gonna stay." He answers. We both smile and take a sip of our coffees.

We talk some more and then some reporters find us. We both quickly get up and run to his car.
We drive to finnick said house. Gale sits there for a minute then we just carry on chatting.
"I've had a crush on you ever since I ran into you at the mall." He confesses and I think I'm turning red.
"Really. Well what a coincidence we go to the same school." I tell him.
"Oh yeah. I love high school. I can do what ever I want." We both laugh.
"And what do you want to do?" I ask.
"I dunno yet but right now I like what I'm doing. I'm head of the school magazine. I'm it's star reporter." He smiles at me.

"Wait so you printed the magazine about me being new and stuff?" I ask.
"Yeah. Sorry about that." He mumbles. "So tell me about yourself. I feel like I've been talking to much."
"Oh. I'm very boring." I chuckle.
"I will be The judge of that." He says.
"Okay what do you wanna know?"
"Um," he replies. "What do your parents do for a living?"
Out of everything in the world he had to ask that.
"Um. I actually have to go." I unlock the door and climb out. I run to the door and unlock it.
"Wait you didn't tell me!" He shouts from the car.
"See you tomorrow Gale." I yell and slam the door.
"How was it?" Asks Finnick.
"So not talking about it," I race up the stairs and to my room. I hoped to just fall on the bed and go to sleep. But instead I find Annie patiently sitting there.
"Jeez, you scared me." I chuckle. She Starts laughing and pulls out a bag of smarties cookies.
"Tell me how the date went and the cookies are yours." She explains.
"It wasnt a date!" I tell her while eyeing the cookies.
"I. Don't. Care! How was it! Tell me." She shouts. Annie jumps up and walks towards me. I run to the stairs and practically fall down them. Then I run across the street and into a cluster of trees. I can hear Annie chasing me to I climb a fence and jump.

I land on my feet and take off running.

I turn around to see Annie standing there not looking very happy.
"I am wearing heals!" She shouts.

Sorry I haven't updated in ages anyway this story has reached 820 reads!!!!!!!

I was really hoping if we could get this story to 1K by my birthday which in on the 19th August so it's in 6 days!!
