Izuna Uchiha paced back and forth in his cousin's ward, carefully selecting every word that came out of his mouth. His cousin had a temper. Everybody knew that. It was unwise to challenge him or threaten his authority in any way.

"What happened, Sasuke?" It felt like a safe way to start.

His cousin looked at him like he was spewing utter nonsense.

"You know what I mean..." Izuna leaned his forehead onto the cold bars separating him from his cousin.

"You tell me."

"Some guards heard some kind of ruckus coming from Ward 13, but when they rushed to check on it, they barely caught a glimpse of your doctor running away."

"So?" Sasuke squinted at his cousin from the back of the room.

"So, you may be in big trouble."

"May?" Sasuke grinned.

"Well, odds are. They have been unable to reach the doctor since yesterday, but they have suspicions that you acted out. They can't file a formal complaint about your behavior until the doctor signs the report or files one on her own,  but it's probably a matter of time. If you have a behavioral violation on your record, it will come up in court and-"

"She won't file it."

"Sorry? How the fu- ehm, how would you know something like that?"

"Do you trust me, Izuna?" It sounded much less rhetorical than it was. Izuna punched the bars in frustration before pacing around some more.

"I-I do, Sasuke. I really do. I just don't understand why you'd jeopardize your standing with her like this, I mean-"

Sasuke snickered loudly,

"Quite the opposite, Izuna." Sasuke looked down at the palm of his right hand - the one that was pressed against her throat less than a day ago. His heart beat a tad bit faster at the memory. "If anything, I solidified where we stand."

"What did you even do to her?!" Izuna clicked his tongue, facing away from his cousin.

"I don't kiss and tell, Izuna."

Sasuke's amused tone irritated Izuna to no end. Him and Marcus were busting their asses trying to facilitate Sasuke's smooth escape, and here he was treating this predicament like child's play. He didn't dare say anything, though. After all, Sasuke had just gone through the act of killing his brother. Someone he despised, but his brother nevertheless. Everyone mourned differently, and Izuna did not want to scold Sasuke during such a time.

"Whatever, Sasuke. Look, worst case, if she files a report, I can get Marcus to-"

"You're dismissed, Izuna. I'll see you in the afternoon."

"Afternoon? For your session? Are you insane? Chances are you won't be having sessions any time soon-"

"I'll see you in the afternoon, Izuna."
