The Champions and the gang were flying in the sky on their ride pokemon. Soon, they caught up to Professor Kukui's family, but some of the ride pokemon were starting to run out of strength due to the long distance needed to follow the two legendary pokemon.
"Approaching targets. Please be aware of in-flight transitions."
"Are we under attack?" Iris noticed the sound and asked.

"No, it's my private jet." Coming to the rescue was Brock's private jet, which he called from Sinnoh. He had used it earlier with Ash, Dawn, and Goh during the recent Arceus crisis that occurred at Mount Coronet. It could go fast enough and spare some of the pokemon's energy, but it couldn't carry everyone.
"You guys need a ride?"

The crew turned around and found their enemy. Jessie, James, and Meowth were riding in a helicopter with Wobbuffet at the controls. But this time around, they were not in their Team Rocket outfit. James was holding a camera to record, and Jessie wore a headset, reporting as if she were a news reporter.
Lance was a bit skeptical, but decided to trust them this time. He cupped his hands, "We are following Ash and Leon! Are you guys going the same way?"
"If the twirp wins, we have to be the first ones to see him win," Jessie said, "We are definitely following them. Get in!"
The younger kids looked at the champions. They nodded, and the crew proceeded to get on the helicopter, returning their ride pokemon into their pokeballs to save their strength. It was a bit too many people, so some of them had to ride on Brock's private jet.
"Thank you for the ride," Cynthia faintly smiled at Team Rocket, "But don't do anything out of bounds, I will still bring you to Officer Jenny."
"We don't have any missions at the moment," James said, "Our boss Giovanni said we are merging with a new team, so our projects come to a halt."
Gary had a hunch about who they were merging with. But before he could ask anything, he was interrupted by Wobbuffet. The blue pokemon noticed another helicopter that was following Eternatus, so it pushed the lever forward. The crew began chasing Eternatus as well, and Brock immediately tailgated his friends, hoping things would not go sideways.
