3 black cars arrived at the outskirts of the HQ, hiding from the patrolling guards around the stronghold.

Lance was driving in the front car, with Gary holding the map next to him, and Steven sitting behind him. Raihan was driving the middle car, carrying Cynthia and Iris. Officer Jenny was driving the back car, with Diantha and Alain as passengers. They parked near the bushes and observed the environment.

4 heavily armed guards were standing at the front gate. 2 were on each side of the building, shining flashlights into the surroundings to check for intruders. There were also guards on the balconies to prevent people from travelling into the HQ by air.

Gary said on the radio, "Champions, as expected, there are a lot of guards in each of the 'normal' entrances of the HQ. If we barge into it directly, the guards will know, PsychicMagic will know, and our "Rescue Leon" mission will fail."

Steven asked for the rest of the champions, "What about the abnormal entrances?"

Gary projected the floor plan of the building into the cars' windows, "Exactly, we are going in through the vents and venting tunnels. Gardevoir, can you sense where Leon is located?"

Gardevoir popped out of her Pokeball and activated her see-through vision. There were many people and pokemon inside the building, but there was one particular room that she was unable to see through, as if it was blocked by something.

Diantha communicated with Gardevoir mentally, before returning her into the Pokeball and replying to the fellow Champions, "There is a room by the far end of the building. We can probably get to the room if we climb through the venting tunnels. Leon should be in there."

Gary nodded, "Got it. Let's give it a try. I was installing a security system here for PsychicMagic before the finals. The Boss installed chips into all of his crewmates' pokemon. If the system detects chipless pokemon in the building, it will trigger an alert. Best that we return our pokemon to our Pokeballs."

Alain raised a question, "What about us? If they can detect pokemon, they should detect us, right?"

Gary took a deep breath, "Let's just bet they are not expecting us to climb through the venting tunnels. They are narrow to climb: Raihan will have a hard time, and most of our ace pokemon couldn't fit through. Venting is the closest way for the mission to be successful."

All of them got out of the cars, leaving Officer Jenny in the spot as an observer. Gary led the pack and opened a vent on the side of the road. He slowly crawled into it, and urged the rest to follow him, "Stay quiet. Keep your steps soft. The metals transmit sound very easily. If they hear us inside the building, we are in trouble."

Led by Gary, the Champions, including Alain and Raihan, began crawling in the venting tunnels. They headed towards the room that Diantha's Gardevoir had mentioned earlier. It was very cold in the tunnels because it was a place for the air-conditioned wind to travel around the building.
