Prologue
Magdalena/Magdalene syndrome. One of the rarest diseases and the only way to cure it is, impregnation. Sadly, I was diagnosed with that disease and suffered for months. Until Agon, a nurse and my half-brother's half-brother, agreed to become a sperm donor after forcing him for too long as I couldn't trust anyone else, and he was the only one my family thought would respect me, just in case we will be needing to perform the traditional method of impregnation.
Fortunately, the first option was a success. I got pregnant. But then, as a daughter who grew up in a broken family, I don't want my child to experience the same. And again, I had to force Agon to marry me. Until he told me...
"Kahit bayaran n'yo ulit ako ng milyon... hindi kita mamahalin."
Kissed me just to say, "I can kiss you as passionate as this, but Ara, take note of this, I will never love you."
Hug me to say, "I can hug you as tight as this for hours, or even for years... but Ara, I can't love you. And even if I can, I don't wanna love you."
Kissed my forehead to engrave inside my head, "Itatak mo iyan sa isip mo ha? Hindi kita mamahalin."
That's when I knew, loving Agon means loving agony.
