A pounding hits the door loudly, overlapping the silence.
ALEX ?!
"..in fact.. I'll call her now."
She reaches for the telephone and dials a number.
It rings, and after about 8 seconds, it picks up.
"..Manora..?! What are YOU doing here..?? I assume you wanna go on and on about your daughter again??" Her filtered voice rushes through.
With a sigh, mom replies.
"Hey, Madison. Yes, your son has highly upset my daughter, so I need him gone. Please pick him up."
"You think I'm gonna listen to everything YOU say?! How about instead you tell me why you CUT ME OFF?!"
I MAY be a little nosy.. so I listen.
Cut her off ?! How ?!
"Can you quit it?! I cut you off for a reason! Stay away from me. We were wrong!! What about that do you NOT understand?!" My mom exclaims in anger.
"Sure!! I'll pick up him up! AFTER you tell me why you cut me off! Why you moved a full STATE AWAY FROM ME after your TINY 'explanation' of why you left me."
Tears rushed to mom's eyes.
"..please, Madison. Just pick him up. We don't have to talk anymore."
"Manora, learn that you won't ALWAYS get your way!!"
And with that, she hung up.
mom's misty eyes widened slightly as she put the telephone away.
"I'm sorry, Evelyn. Maybe I can convince her otherwise."
"It's okay, mom."
About 34 minutes later, a knock on the door startled us.
"..maybe that's Alex's mother."
Mom opened the door, leaving me on the sofa to draw.
I felt really down. I wanted to HELP Alex, not throw him to his mom.
I could help him. I could make him feel better and BE better.
He would be okay then. :(
"Hey, Manora. Where's Alex??"
"..I'll get him."
Mom left Madison in the hallway while she went up the stairs to my room.
Alex's mom sat on the ottoman and crossed her arms with a glare.
Her perfume was WAAAAYYY too strong. It was nice, but just too much.. :)
About 2 minutes later, she stared at me in disbelief.
"..so you're Manora's kid, right??"
"..yes. hi."
Just as she was about to answer, Alex went downstairs with my mom.
Once they made it to the living room, Alex crossed his arms as he stood next to his mom.
MY mom, however, sat next to me.
Right before Alex turned to the hallway, he gazed at me bitterly before turning and walking out.
In silence, Alex and his mom left, my mom locking the door behind them.
My eyes went glossy.
I could not BELIEVE it had went this way!! :(
It was TERRIBLE! Alex HATED me now!!
