SUMMER HAD BEEN glad to see the school day over. No more drama. No more fake bullshit. No more of them. She thought when she got home, she'd just be able to relax and block everything out. But this was no better than school.

"Imagine being told by the school that the girl you're raising is a slut?" Alicia fumed, her fists clenched at her sides.

"The school never said that," Summer stated with a sigh.

"They basically did," She replied.

"I'm not a slut," She argued with a huff, "Havinv sex with your boyfriend doesn't make you a slut."

"How many fucking boyfriends have you had?" Alicia remarked with a scowl. She crossed her arms over her chest. "Let me name every single thing you've done, let's see if you still think you're classy."

"No," Summer protested, "Please do not—"

"Hooked up with five boys," The woman began, "Dated four boys. Given one boy a wristy?" She shook her head in disgust, "It's trampy, Summer."

"Nate has done way worse than me," Summer said, throwing her hands up in frustration. "Why aren't you saying this to him?"

"It's different for him," She brushed it off with a shrug.

"How is it different?" She asked, raising her eyebrows. "Because he's a guy? That is so unfair."

"Lose the tone," Alicia demanded with a look of warning, "You don't get to give attitude when you've been behaving like a whore!"

"Oh, my God." Summer muttered under her breath in disbelief, "You're acting like I've had sex with the whole school. Most of the guys were guys I've dated."

"When Stephen hears about this."

"No, no, no!" Summer protested, shaking her head. "Please, Alicia, don't tell him."

"Why shouldn't I?" She asked, easing her eyebrows.

"Because he'll go psycho," She explained with a frown, "You know how is, Alicia. He just snaps and wants to break everything in sight. Please, don't tell him."

Stephen was the angriest man Summer had ever met; he'd scream at you till your ears hurt, he'd punch holes in the walls, he'd insult you until you were in tears, he'd take any ounce of privacy from you. For eight years she'd had to deal with his outbursts.

Nobody scared her the way he did, not even Chook.

"Please?" Summer pouted, looking at her with desperate eyes.

Alicia may have been harsh towards her, and always seemed to have a problem with anything she did. But she did also care about her; she did t like to see the girl get upset over Stephen.

She let out a sigh, "Fine. But just this once," She warned, holding out her finger. "If I get a call from your school again, over anything, then I'm telling him."
