MALAKAI HAD GOTTEN Amerie, who was with Harper. The four of them now going to her house.
Malakai opened the door, his arm around Summer as he walked her inside. The other two girls followed behind.
"Yeah," Harper said, speaking to the woman on the phone, "Yeah, she took the first pill around eight o'clock last night. Yeah, okay. I'm... I'm just gonna put you on speakerphone."
Malakai moved the stuff from the couch and sat her down. Amerie sat beside her, rubbing her hand on her back as whimpered.
"Here," Harper sat down on the other side of her, holding the phone in her hand.
"Hi, Summer." The woman on the phone spoken through the speaker, "From what your friend has described, you don't need to worry. Have you started bleeding yet?"
"No, just cramping really bad," Summer answered, her voice strained.
"Thats okay, that's normal." The woman assured her, "Your body might be trying to jumpstart the process."
"Do I take the second pill?" She asked.
"Yes, take it now." The woman told her, "It might still take a while to expel all the tissue." Summer let out another whimper, "If you develop a fever, call back, okay?"
"Thanks so much," Harper said.
"Thank you."
The blonde then hung up the phone, looking down at the girl, "Where's the other pill?"
"It's in my wallet," Summer stated.
"Uh, oh, I'll get it. Right." Malakai said, turning to go and get it for her.
Summer cried out, "Oh, my stupid fucking body. Why is it doing this to me?"
Amerie continued to rub circles on her back, trying her best to comfort her, "I know, Sum. It sucks, I'm sorry."
"Amerie, you're gonna miss the debate because of me," Summer cried, her expression showing how upset she was, "All that work, and you're gonna miss it."
"No, no." Amerie shook her head, "It's okay. You're more important right now,"

After Summer took the second pill, she then got into the bath. Her pain started to feel like it was easing slightly—or at least she hoped.
"Uh, how about, uh, peppermint?" Malakai questioned, standing at the other side of the bathroom door.
"Too spicy," She answered.
"Uh... Oolong?"
"Ew, gross. No, thank you."
He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion at her words, "Sorry, um, I can't really hear what you said. Um..."
