MALAKAI WAS IN the boy's locker room, getting changed. He was still in confusion after Summer's reply, it was like a noise instead of a word. It wasn't a yes, but it also wasn't a no.

"My man," Ant walked over with a grin, touching his chest, "Acting all gentle and shit. Get 'em, huh?"

"I haven't got her yet, bro." He replied, pulling over his shirt.

"What were the flowers for?"

Spider chuckled, "He's a simp, not a pimp."

"Simp!"

Malakai glanced over at him before he sat down, "Congratulations, Spider. You made A-grade. You happy?"

"Well, maybe if you put as much effort in training as you did trying to cop a root, you'd have made the team." Spider remarked, making some the boys laugh. "At least there you had a chance, bro."

"Ah. See, when I play I always score, on and off the court." Malakai retorted, raising his eyebrows. Nate grimaced in disgust; so know he knew where his sister had been gone to for a day.

"Big dog."

"Oh, shit, big man."

Dusty grabbed onto his shoulder, "So you did hook up with Summer?"

His face fell, realising what he had just said.

"Oh, bro, he did."

"Saw your back, mate." Zach spoke up with a smirk, causing him to turn to look at him in confusion. "Sunny's a scratcher. Always got them long nails,"

"Sunny?" Malakai blinked. He never noticed how annoying Zach's face really was until he opened his mouth.

"It's his shit nickname for a girl that could do a lot better than him," Nate told Malakai with a scowl, "And she did do, so..." He turned to Zach, "Maybe you should keep your shut your fucking mouth for once."

Zach rolled his eyes, "Chill, bro."

"Bullshit," Spider called out with an amused expression. He crossed his arms over his chest, "When?"

"Don't be jealous 'cause a girl picked me," Malakai replied, shrugging his shoulders. A few of the boys laughed.

"I don't give a shit about Summer like that," He told him, an annoyed expression on his face.

"As if."

Malakai and Nate both let out laughs, knowing full well he did.

Nate obviously knew about his friend's crush that had been going on for years. So he found it amusing that he was acting like that.

And Malakai had heard how he'd always get mean when she got a boyfriend; it was a pattern. Spider was down bad for a girl who was embarrassed about kissing him years ago.
