Emerald Forest
"So, uh... what're your names?" the goat Faunus asked as they moved, her tone curious but tempered by the urgency of their pace.
"Kelsey," she replied simply, her tone cool and direct.
"Katsuro," he answered, equally curt.
"Those are some cool names! I'm Rhea!" she replied, a hint of excitement in her voice as her goat-like horn bobbed slightly with her steps.
"And I'm Unity," added the dog Faunus, her tail giving a quick wag of approval as she ran alongside them. Her cheerful energy was contagious, bringing warmth to the otherwise focused group.
Katsuro and Kelsey shared a quick glance, acknowledging their new allies with a nod as they pressed forward. The introductions were brief, but it was enough to establish a sense of unity among them.
As they reached the cliffside, Katsuro signaled for the group to slow, raising his Gunbai to halt them. "Hold up."
A giant Deathstalker was ahead, perched like a nightmarish sentinel at the cliff's edge. Its dark exoskeleton glinted under the dappled sunlight, and its pincers clicked menacingly as it shifted in place. Its stinger arched over its body, poised and ready to strike at any moment, as if it had been waiting for intruders.
Rhea's eyes widened as she took in the sight of the massive Grimm. "That thing's blocking our only way across," she muttered, a mixture of fear and excitement in her voice.
Kelsey assessed the situation, glancing at Katsuro. "A direct approach will be risky. We'll need to split its focus to avoid that stinger."
Katsuro gave a quick nod, a plan already forming. "Rhea, Unity, you two will distract it, hold or watch out for the stinger. Stay out of its reach and force it to divide its attention. Kelsey, keep your rifle trained on its eyes. Take out its sight to limit its accuracy."
"And you?" Unity asked, the green glow of her Semblance casting a determined light over her face.
"I'll go in close and handle its legs," Katsuro replied with a steady voice. "Once it's immobilized, we'll hit it together."
"Sounds good to me!" Rhea grinned, her eyes alight with determination. Activating her Semblance to boost her speed, she leaped into the air, her massive hammer raised high. With a powerful slam, she struck the Deathstalker's armor, shaking the creature and drawing its attention.
"TAKE THAT, YOU BIG MEAN PUNK!" she taunted as the Deathstalker recoiled, its massive stinger poised to strike her. But before it could, Kelsey fired a precise shot, her bullet piercing one of its eyes, momentarily blinding it on one side. The stinger shot past Rhea, missing her by mere inches, and crashed into the ground with a thundering impact.
As Rhea landed, she didn't waste a second, swinging her hammer again, this time slamming it against the Deathstalker's face with enough force to stagger it further. The Grimm roared, enraged, but Unity, with eyes narrowed in concentration, raised her hand, her telekinesis wrapping around the embedded stinger.
"I've got its tail!" she yelled, holding it in place as the creature struggled to pull it free.
"Perfect," Katsuro muttered, dashing toward the Deathstalker's legs. Channeling chakra into his Gunbai, he slashed downward, calling out, "Fūton: Gunbai Kyōkai!" A sharp arc of wind shot forward, slicing cleanly through several of the Deathstalker's legs.
SLASH
The Grimm screeched in pain as its severed legs collapsed beneath it, leaving it helpless and pinned.
