Two Weeks Later: Headmaster Meeting, Beacon Academy
Sasuke sat at the head of a circular table in the Vale Headmaster's meeting room.
The space was both elegant and imposing, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a panoramic view of the city, while the room itself was designed for privacy, to hold only the most crucial and strategic discussions between the heads of the academies.
As the clock ticked closer to the meeting's start, the first arrival strode in-a tall figure dressed in desert-toned robes and a loosely wrapped headscarf, speaking to the practical and adaptable fashion of Vacuo.
This was none other than Headmaster Halim Kadir, known for his straightforward, almost blunt approach. He was a seasoned fighter as well as a master tactician, and his sharp, assessing gaze took in every detail as he offered Sasuke a curt nod.
"Headmaster Rose," Halim greeted, his deep voice carrying a natural authority. "Vale's Academy seems to have weathered recent storms better than most."
Sasuke inclined his head, acknowledging the comment. "Welcome, Headmaster Kadir. We're honored to host you."
Not long after, the doors opened again to reveal a woman with a dignified bearing, dressed in crisp formal attire that was as graceful as it was precise.
This was Headmistress Amara Keane of Mistral, known for her quick mind and measured words. Amara was a scholar of ancient Grimm knowledge and wielded influence over the entire eastern kingdom. She entered with a small, polite smile, immediately making eye contact with both men before moving to her seat.
"Headmaster Rose, Headmaster Kadir. Thank you for having us." Amara's voice was cool but welcoming, her eyes scanning the room with interest.
Marron Ironwood, the newly appointed Headmaster of Atlas Academy, was the last to enter. A tall, sturdy figure in a fitted military uniform, he bore a striking resemblance to his predecessor.
Though he hadn't held his position as long as the others, Marron's reputation as a leader and warrior already preceded him. He greeted the others with a firm handshake and a stoic nod.
"Sasuke," Marron said with a rare, faint smile, "Good to see you."
With all the headmasters now gathered, Sasuke motioned for everyone to take their seats around the table, each headmaster representing their kingdom's interests. He felt a sense of responsibility pressing down on him; it had taken years of relentless effort to bring the academies to the point of open cooperation like this.
Sasuke began, his tone steady but urgent. "Thank you all for coming. Today's agenda centers on the state of our defenses, particularly in light of the escalating Otsutsuki incidents. We've all reviewed the latest reports, and I believe there's a shared understanding that increased cooperation between the academies is no longer optional-it's essential."
Halim Kadir nodded, always one to cut straight to the matter at hand. "If these threats are approaching Remnant, Vacuo stands ready. However, covering the wide borders our kingdom is known for will require additional support, especially to monitor areas beyond our standard patrol zones."
Amara Keane was quick to add her voice, her tone resolute yet calm. "We've improved our aerial detection and combat capabilities over the past few decades, and Mistral is well-equipped to support both strategically and defensively. You have our commitment, Headmaster Rose, until the very end."
Marron Ironwood folded his arms, his analytical gaze sweeping over the gathered headmasters. "Atlas is prepared to bolster our collective defense with personnel and technology. We've been developing prototype detection systems able to identify unique energy signatures-both from Grimm and other sources. If we share this technology with each of your academies, we might be able to detect unusual patterns before they become direct threats."
