AU where the doctor is a human man named John Smith who meets a waitress named Clara in a coffee shop on a rainy day. And they fall in love.. [WHOUFFALDI]
John Smith was a reserved man with very little friends and hardly any social skills. He mostly worked, spent time alone, and woke up to do it all over again. Nobody to love, nobody to hold; therefore, he was sad.
Despite the fact he was in his mid fifties, he was an incredibly attractive man with extraordinary fluffy silver hair. Slim but fit and tall. In his black suits and black sunglasses, he didn't realise he was a killer. John was clueless to his, which only made him even more attractive.
Although he thought himself to be just odd and quirky, one brunette woman makes him feel extraordinary. And it all started with a coffee shop.
Clara Oswald on the other hand was eccentric, young and beautiful. Her soft brown hair swept just above her shoulders, finge pushed off to the side and mostly staying tucked behind her ear while she worked. Although she was happy and healthy with wonderful friends who cared about her, she didn't have anybody to love or care for.
At a petite five foot two, she was a feisty young woman who wouldn't hesitate to bite your head off if you got out of line. But she was kind to everybody, seeing good in everyone until they proved her wrong.
Clara worked in a quaint little diner/café in London. Decorated with pastel colours and old timey furniture, everybody seemed to find the place adorable. She worked her ass off in that little place, running around all day, writing down orders and pouring coffee for the old men in the morning. But it was a slow day on a spring Wednesday that she met somebody that she couldn't seem to forget.

It was a sunny day, that is, until it began raining while John walked down the street on his way back from work (he was a children's doctor). He ran to the closest shop he could find and quickly pushed himself through the doors. Inside, he found the place nearly deserted except for a young couple laughing at each other in a corner booth--sharing a milkshake--, and a short brunette woman at the front desk, doodling in her writing pad. She had not seemed to have seen him come in and he didn't really mind. John looked at her there and suddenly felt something in his stomach, almost a tingly, giddy feeling. He didn't think much of it and approached the woman, mumbling a soft 'hello' when he got close enough.
The woman fumbled with her pencil and quickly looked up at him with a nervous and embarrassed smile. "Oh, hello! Sorry didn't see you come in." She smiled--he was taken aback by how beautiful her dimple-filled smile was. "My name is Clara, could I get anything for you?" John could tell she was genuine, kind and goodhearted.
He smiled back, feeling himself grow suddenly bashful in the presence of Clara. "Uh, could I get a coffee with seven sugars and a muffin." John tried not to sound nervous, but he had to admit that he was.
She smiled back at him and nodded. "Sure, one second." Clara then disappeared behind a curtain that must have let to the kitchen. He heard some clattering and fumbling until She reappeared with two small plates: one with a blueberry muffin and one with his coffee. She set them on the bar, gesturing for him to sit infront of the plates. Clara leaned on the countertop in front of him as he sat down.
"How much?" he asked, looking through his wallet, searching for change.
Clara simply shrugged and chuckled, "Its on the house, think of it as a gift." she winked. John felt his face grow hot and prayed that it didn't show.
"Cheers." he replied with a smile before taking a sip of his coffee. "Names John, by the way."
"Nice name, John." she smiled.
