A/N: I saw a thing on tumblr where someone had a headcannon that Twelve made the heart on Pluto for Clara and I just HAD to write it. Enjoy!❤

"Doctor!" Clara exclaimed as she threw open the front doors of the TARDIS. She found him standing beside the console, clad in his greenish plaid pants, worn jumper, and black suit jacket--with the wonderful red satin. He wore an adorable shocked face, his lips a pursed and eyes wide. Clara giggled as he realised it was only her and returned to his usual expression.

"What is so important that you had to scare the daylights out of me?" The Doctor huffed, walking around the console in mock annoyance.

Clara grinned at him, knowing that whenever she smiled at him with those big eyes and dimpled cheeks, he couldn't help but smile. She watched as his grumpiness turned into a soft smile. Clara could see the light in his eyes and she knew he absolutely adored her.

The Doctor rolled his eyes playfully and moved more towards her so that they were only about a yard away from each other. "Must I ask you again? What were you so excited about?" he asked again.

Clara skipped over to him and kissed his cheek quickly before looking up at him with a smile. "Someone's extra grumpy today." The Doctor cocked his head at her, not wanting to ask a third time. "Did you hear about Pluto?"

"Of course I've heard about Pluto, ex-smallest planet in the Earth's solar system. Who hasn't heard of Pluto? What about it?" The Doctor asked, his patience worn.

Clara rolled her eyes and huffed. "I was excited about the fact that Pluto is a planet again, well, legally that is. Pluto was always my favourite planet as a child! It makes me happy knowing it's appreciated again." she smiled softly, her absolute, content happiness shining through.

The Doctor smiled with her, deciding to surprise her with a gift later. "That's wonderful. Are you up for an adventure today?" he asked, politely changing the subject.

Clara thought for a moment before nodding and kissing him quickly. "What do you have in mind?" she asks with raised eyebrows.

Clara left that day after a long, dangerous adventure on a dalek planet. They had almost died but Clara was used to near death experiences by now. She had left with a dirt-covered face and the exhaustion of a toddler after a play date. He found her adorable in her grumpy, sleepy stage. Clara had let him kiss her quick before she left and gave him a soft smile before she left. The Doctor, on the other hand, was still wide awake and ready to go through with his plans for Claras surprise.

He landed on Pluto only minutes after she left, his sonic in hand and plan in his head.

The next day, The Doctor landed in Claras bedroom at 10am, finding her just woken up by the sound of the TARDIS. "Doctor?" Clara said groggily, wiping her morning eyes and snuggling into her TARDIS blue comforter. Clara's hair was all bedraggled and sticking up in odd angles.

The Doctor was weak and kept getting distracted by the bare skin of her legs that was showing under her comforter. He hoped she was wearing pajama shorts, in hopes of avoiding her teasing him after he got flustered at the sight of her in her knickers. He was thankful she had shorts and a tank top on when she threw off her covers and swung her feet over the side of the bed. "What time is it?" She asked, slipping into her attached bathroom to wash her face and brush her teeth and hair.

"About ten, I thought you'd be up already, sorry, should've called or something." He admitted.

Clara shrugged, splashing cold water in her face in hopes of washing the soap off her face. After, she wiped her face with a dry towel and quickly put her hair up in a messy bun. "Its no problem, what'd you have in mind today?" she asked, sitting beside him on her bed and holding his arm, snuggling into him. She realised a while back that she was more affectionate than usual in the morning. The Doctor didn't mind, he loved her touches, hugs and snuggles by now, getting used to the feeling after a while.

The Doctor smiled tenderly, slipping his hand into hers. "I have a surprise for you, actually. Get dressed, I'll be in the TARDIS." He kissed the top of her head before standing and walking into the TARDIS.

Clara quickly got dressed, deciding on a pair of black skinny jeans and a soft, cream-coloured jumper. When she hopped into the TARDIS, The Doctor took off almost immediately, being too excited to wait any longer.

Clara held onto the railing urgently as the room shook and rattled. She glanced over at her Doctor as he grinned up at the ceiling, watching the lights of the TARDIS pulse. The scene made her happy.

Once the room became still once again, The Doctor took her hand in his urgently, running to the door and looking at her. "Before you ask, I made you a surprise and it took a while to make so please be kind, although you might not like it. Alright?" Clara giggled and nodded in response. "Okay..." He muttered before clutching her hand in his and opening the doors. Clara took a step forward to step out but stopped when she realised they were in space.

"Pluto? Why bring me here? We've been on Pluto, silly." Clara looked up at him, a tad confused.

"Look at the markings, Clara. I did the mark-" he begins but she interrupts him.

"A heart?! You carved a heart into Pluto for me? Oh, you big softy!" Clara exclaimed before tiptoeing up to kiss him a bit more eagerly then she meant to, slipping her hands into his soft, curly, silver hair. The Doctor slowly put his arms around her waist, pulling her to him, feeling his back press against the wall beside the door frame.

Clara pulled away to find him blushing furiously, wearing a shy smile. "Thank you, I love you."

The Doctor pulled her in for a hug, "I love you, too."
