Clara knew that The Doctor had been married before. She knew he used to love River. And that he still loved her, but just not like that. It was different now. River was almost the complete opposite of Clara. River was this feisty, curly haired woman full of sass and class, while Clara was just a feisty, but also very fragile. Didn't mean she couldn't hold her own, because she was able. But something about River being The Doctor's ex made Clara horrendously jealous.

"River?" The Doctor said with confusion written all over his face as the woman he once loved stood before him in all her beautiful, wild haired glory.

The blonde smirked, her hand on her hip. "Hello, sweetie. Miss me?" she blew him a kiss before walking over to him and embracing him fully.

"River, how can are you here? I thought you couldn't visit me anymore?" The Doctor asked.

From what she told him in Trenzalore, River couldn't be seen visible to him anymore. He didn't understand how she was here. But The Doctor felt both his hearts beating quickly. His blood was rushing. His head spinning.

"I bent the rules a bit." River shrugged as if bending the laws of time and space were nothing.

"I'm so glad to see you..." The Doctor smiled and kissed her softly. He couldn't help it. River kissed back forcefully like she always had. Rivers hands slipped up his chest and around The Doctor's neck as his arms wrapped around her waist.

Clara had just gotten up from a nap in the library when she heard The Doctor talking to somebody. Obviously, there was no body else to be found in the TARDIS, so who could it be? Clara stood and snuck down the corridor into the console room. The scene she found was shocking. The Doctor had River pinned up against the wall and was kissing her quite aggressively and sloppily as River ran her fingers through his soft brown hair. Her eyes weld up with hot tears.

"Doctor!" she shrieked.

The Doctor turned around to see Clara standing there, tears running down her cheeks. "Clara! It's--!" Before he could even finish his sentence Clara stormed out of the room and down the corridor.

"River, I'm sorry, but you know that us kissing means nothing now, right?" The Doctor turned to River, whose hair was quite messy.

River nodded, "I know." She was sad, but she knew that was how it had to be. "Goodbye, sweetie." River kissed him one last time and disappeared.

The Doctor ran to find Clara. "Clara!" he called down the corridors. She was nowhere to be found. The Doctor hear a sniffle. "Clara?" He turned to find her huddled in a corner by a door, her face between her knees. "I'm sorry."

"Just go away." Clara said angrily. "I don't want to even know you."

"Clara, please, listen. That wasn't anything. River was saying goodbye to me." The Doctor said, crouching down by her.

"Didn't look that she was saying anything." she spat.

The Doctor chuckled a bit, but then coughed to correct himself. "That's just her way of saying goodbye. Trust me. It was nothing, I swear. River isn't here anymore. She can't come back. I loved her, Clara, I did. But... I love you now. I have to move on, and I found you." The Doctor lifted her head from between her knees and put a hand on her cheek. "I love you, Clara. I swear that will never ever happen."

Clara looked up at him with wet eyes. "Really?" Tears still ran down her face. He nodded. "I love you, Doctor." she smiled.

The Doctor kissed her nose sweetly. "I love you too, impossible girl." Their lips met and the whole world disappeared.
