Emily POV

"Are you guys going back to the apartment?" Karen asked me

We all are getting ready to leave the cottage. Hardin is putting mines and dad's suitcases in his car. Dad is with Hardin helping him. I hope they get along. I want Hardin to have a good connection with my dad.

"No actually dad invited Hardin and I over at his place today" I told her

I don't know if I should tell her about his second family. I don't know if she knows it.

"Oh ok. Did your dad tell you?" Karen asked me

I guess she's knows then.

"He told you?" I asked her

"Yeah he told me and Ken. How are you feeling about this whole situation?" she asked me

"I dont know how to feel honestly" I told her

"Really?" she asked me

"Yeah I guess I just gained a new step mother plus two new step siblings. I just don't know if they're going to like me or not" I told her

"They will. This is all still new to you and to me you seem to be a lovely person and I liked hanging out with you here and with Nora. You seem such a nice person and I'm sure you're two step siblings will like you" she said and I smiled at her

"I hope so and I hope you had a nice weekend here. Did you?" I asked her and she smiled

"Yeah I did. I love this having family time especially with Hardin. I haven't gotten to know him that well because how he is like but I'm glad I got to know him this weekend. He is nice guy. He just have the bad side of him when he wants to be" she said

"Yeah I know what you mean" I told her

She was about to say something but I felt someone putting their hand on my shoulder. I turned to see it's Hardin and he smiled then he leaned to kiss me. I was taken back a bit. I didn't know he was going to kiss me in front of Karen. He pulled away and I blushed. He saw me blushing and he smirked at me.

"Is everything in the car?" I asked him

"Yeah and you're dad is ready when you are" he said

"Okay let me say goodbye to everyone first" I told him

"Okay take your time" he said and I nodded

I walked over to Ken who is texting someone on his phone. He turned when I was up to him and he smiled.

"You're leaving?" he asked

"Yeah. Hardin and I are going to my dad's house" I told him

"Are you okay? Are you nervous about that?" Ken asked me

"I'm okay. Just little bit nervous" I told him

"How come?" he asked me

"I just want them to like me" I told him

"They will like you. You're a nice girl and I know they are going to love you if you just be yourself" he said and I smiled

"I will" I told him

"I just want to say thanks for bringing Hardin. I know he doesn't like to do these family stuff but I'm glad you got him some stuff even though he wanted to hangout with you most of the time. But I'm glad you make him happy" he said
