Chapter 36

Emily POV

It's crazy to say that I have siblings. Like I have a brother and a sister. All my life I wanted siblings and now I do. Well, step siblings. They're not my blood siblings but they're my step siblings and I still love them.

We just picked up Lilly from school. Her eyes lit up when we picked her up from school but she ran to Hardin first to give him a hug. I love how Hardin connects with kids. I know he always say he doesn't like kids but deep down I know he does. He gets along with them great especially with Lilly. They're like best friends at this point and I think she is stealing Hardin from me mostly.

We just arrived at Lucas high school and I could see him coming out of school. I hit Hardin shoulder as I saw Lucas walking out of the school with a girl beside him.

"Ow. What was that for?" Hardin asked and I could hear Lilly giggling behind us

"Look he has a girl with him" I told Hardin and he was seeing what I am seeing.

"Yeah he does. Maybe that's the girl he has a crush on" Hardin said and I nodded

Hardin and I watched as Lucas kissed the girl on the cheek. He spotted us and told her something. After a while he walked over to the car. Then he came and sat back in the back with Lilly.

"How's school man?" Hardin asked Lucas

"It was good. You guys saw didn't you?" Lucas asked and I looked at him

"Saw what? I didn't see anything" I told Lucas

"Yeah we saw it. She punched me in the arm to look at you and your girl" Hardin said as he was driving

"She's not my girl yet. And you punched his arm?" Lucas asked me

"I didn't punch your arm. We don't have evidence" I told the boys

"Oh yeah? Lilly, did you see Emily punched my arm?" Hardin asked Lilly

"Say no" I told Lilly and Lilly giggled

"She did" Lilly said

"Ah! Proof and evidence for you" Hardin said

"Emily, I have a question for you" Lucas said and I looked at him

"Sure" I told him

"Can you ask dad if I can go out tonight with the girl you saw me with? I asked her if she available any other day but today is the day she's available and I know dad won't let me go out on a school night" he said and I chuckled

"Yeah I know how dad is. I'll talk to him but if he says to go only evening time. Are you cool with it?" I asked him

"Yeah I'm okay with it. Thanks" Lucas said

"No problem" I told him

I looked at Hardin and I could see a little smile on his lips while he was looking at the road.

"What are you smiling about?" I asked him and he just shook his head as we approached to a stop sign

"I just love you" he said and I smiled at him as he looked at me

"I love you too" I told him

"Kids close your eyes" Hardin told jokingly to Lucas and Lilly

Lilly jokingly closed her eyes while Hardin kissed me.

I already told  dad about Lucas and he was okay with it. Hardin is upstairs with Lucas preparing for Lucas's first date. I know Hardin is going to be a good father one day when we kids and I can't wait for that day.
