Chapter 34

Emily POV

Dad opened the door as he saw me and Hardin at the front door. He opened the door and we were greeted by his wife and his kids. I still can't believe this is happening. Never in a million years I thought my dad will get remarried.

"Emily and Hardin this is my wife Gracie" dad said as a woman stood beside dad

She's beautiful. She has a blonde hair with highlights in it. She is wearing a pair of jeans and light grey t-shirt.

"Nice to finally you meet you. You're dad has told me good things about you" Gracie said as she pulled me into a hug

I was taken back a bit but I hugged her back. I looked at their kids who are sitting on the couch in the living room. They saw me and smiled at me.

"Hopefully good things" I told her as we pulled away from the hug

"Don't worry they are good things" she said and I smiled

"This is my boyfriend Hardin" I told her as I smiled at her as I looked at him

"Hardin nice to meet you" Gracie said

"Nice to meet you too" Hardin said

"Come on let's go to the living room to meet the kids" Gracie said

She lead us to the living room where the kids are sitting. I looked at them and Lucas has shaggy blonde hair while Lilly has blonde hair up to her shoulder length. She looks so cute thought to be a 5 year old.

"Lucas and Lilly this is Emily that your dad has been talking about" Gracie told them

Dad has been talking about me to them? Hopefully good things.

"Hi Lucas and Lilly" I told them

"Hi. You look pretty" Lilly told me and I smiled at her

"Thank you and you look pretty too" I told her and she smiled

"Hi Emily" Lucas told me

"Hi Lucas. How are you?" I asked him as I sat down beside Lilly as Hardin sat down on the single chair beside me and dad and Gracie sat on the other couch

"I'm good" he said

"Hey man did you build that little house?" Hardin asked Lucas

I looked over at the coffee table to see there's a little wooden house on the coffee table.

"Yeah I did at a workshop in school" Lucas said

"Is it for a class project?" I asked him and Lucas looked at him

"Yeah it was for a class project" he said

"Was it hard?" I asked him

"Yeah it was hard but I had my teacher help" he said

"Oh that's good. Do you both have school tomorrow?" I asked them

"Yeah she's in kindgerdan while I'm in 9th grade" Lucas said

"We will let you guys catch up. We are going to set the table" dad said as him and Gracie got up

"Do you need help?" I asked dad and dad smiled

"No you guys catch up with the kids. We will call you when dinner is ready" dad said and I nodded

Dad and Gracie left while Hardin and I were left with Lucas and Lilly. I looked over at Hardin while we were talking with the kids and he smiled.

"How are you liking high school?" I asked Lucas

"It's a good. There's good and bad stuff going down in high school but I like to hangout with small group of friends instead of a big crowd" Lucas said and I smiled
