Chapter 4

Hardin POV

I just walked into Vance publishing. After school I immediately come here to start to work. While I was walking in I could see Kimberly.

Kimberly who is Vance publishing secretary and who he Vance's fiancée. Also, they have a child together named Sarah. Sarah was a shy girl when I met her and she's 5 years old. Sometimes she would come to work and I would talk to her but sometimes she could be a little bit annoying.

"Good evening Hardin" Kimberly said as she saw me and I put my fake smile on

"Good evening" I told her

"Before you go to your office. Vance wants to see you" she told me

"Do you know why?" I asked her

"Nope. Just go see him" she told me

"Okay. Thanks" I told her

"No problem" she said as she left

I walked into Vance's office to see Sarah is here too. She's drawing on her notebook.

"Hi shorty. How was school today?" I asked Sarah

She didn't notice I was coming and she saw me got happy.

"Hardin" she said as she walked over to me

I bend down to her height and gave her a hug.

"How are you?" I asked her as I let go of the hug to look at her

"Good. I haven't seen you in forever" she said and I chuckled

"It's only been a week sweetheart" Vance said

"Really? Well, a week seems forever" Sarah said and I smiled

"How was school today?" I asked as I stood up to walk over to Vance

"It was good. I was just mostly drawing" she said

"Okay. That's good. Kimberly said you needed me" I told Vance

"Yeah I do. Now I need to ask you the question how's school?" Vance asked as I sat down on the chair that's opposite side of him

"Boring as usual" I told him

"And you didn't listen to your lectures" he said

"Nope. Is that why I'm here?" I asked him

"No. I only called you in on your offer the other day with your girlfriend Emily" he said

"She's not my girlfriend. She's just a friend and my roommate" I told him

"I know but the way you talk about her" he said and I rolled my eyes

"I don't like her. We are just friends. Now are we going to give her the job?" I asked him

Emily has been wanting for a job for a long time to prove to her mum that she could be independent. Sophia came into the dorm the other day to check up on Emily. She checked if Emily was okay staying with me but she always wanted Emily to be independent and working. I decided to ask Vance if he could give a job to Emily since he's a great guy. I haven't told Emily yet it's going to be a surprise for her.

"Yeah she's going to get the job but first we had to do a interview for her like I did for you" he said

"When?" I asked him

"Tomorrow if she's available" he said

"Alright I will talk about it with her and then text you tonight" I told him as I got up

"Okay and Hardin" he said

"Yeah" I told him

"Consider about what I said" he said and I rolled my eyes
