You moved on while I stayed stuck in the moment you left.

Chapter 26

“Jungkook, what are you going to do with this?!” Jeonhwa smacked the files on the table, which were Formal Charges dropped against him.

Jungkook was there, sprawled on the couch, wasted because of alcohol, but still didn't stop drinking. There were empty bottles on the floor, but he kept opening another bottle if he wanted to.

“Seriously, you need to fix your actions!” Jeonhwa told him but Jungkook didn't listen to her at all. “Jungkook, listen to me!” she grabbed Jungkook's collar, forcing him to sit down.

Jungkook was like a lifeless body; he didn't care at all, no matter what she did to him.

“For God's sake, Jungkook, what do you think you're doing with your life?!” she asked her son with a concerned and irritated tone. “is this how Taehyung affected you? This is not Jungkook I knew,” Jeonhwa exclaimed.

“I love him...” Jungkook uttered, and for the first time, it had emotion, not just empty words. “I love him so much... Mom...” tears fell from his eyes.

“I knew you love him, Jungkook, but why would you treat him like that?” Jeonhwa questioned him. “money could definitely buy happiness, but money can't buy love, Jungkook. The way you treated him makes it look as if you're showing off your wealth to him.” she added.

“I seriously love him, I promise; I love him more than anyone. I don't want to lose him, I don't want him to be with someone else except me. I'm... I'm not showing off my wealth to him, but I just want to shower him with my love, the affection I knew would work. I... I didn't mean to make him feel like that, I... I'm bad at expressing my feelings.” Jungkook cried.

“But that's not enough reason to cheat on him, Jungkook; if you didn't have any idea how to express your feelings, then you should find a way to learn to do it. Cheating is a choice, Jungkook, it's not a solution to your problem. Did you really think cheating on him would help you find out if his feelings for you were real? That's not how it works, no matter what you say, you cheated on him. That's it.” Jeonhwa explained to him.

“I know, I know it's dumb of me to think that way. I don't know what's gotten into me to do that... I really don't know, I'm sorry,” he sobbed as he gripped his hair.

“There's nothing I really can do for you, Jungkook. You should use this experience of yours to learn your lesson. If you have to give up everything, then do it. Maybe Taehyung isn't the one for you, and there's nothing you can do about it. You should start to accept that fact, Jungkook, you should move on. You might love him but you failed to express your feelings for him.” Jeonhwa lectured him while patting his shoulder.

Jungkook cried, hugging his mother. It was his fault, and he knew it. But was it wrong for him to hope that he wanted Taehyung back?

He really only loved Taehyung, that's why moving on wouldn't be easy for him. But if this is really the fate he had to face, he hoped the best for Taehyung...
