The worst kind of hurt is when you can’t explain why.

Chapter 43

Later on, Taehyung fell asleep once again and Jungkook was there beside Taehyung, holding his hand. It was difficult to make Taehyung let him go because Taehyung would stir around once Jungkook tried to remove him. He had to literally wait for him to fall into a deep slumber so he could finally lay him down on the bed, but Taehyung would feel discomfort if he didn't feel the warmth of Jungkook's body, so Jungkook decided to hold his hand instead, which worked incredibly while he was soothing Taehyung's hand.

“Doc, what was happening to my brother? You said he should be fine, right?” Taniya asked the doctor.

“Well, it was indeed true. The patient should be physically fine, but I guess, the incident mentally affected him.” The doctor responded.

“What do you mean, doc?” Taniya was confused.

“The patient was experiencing an Acute Stress Disorder also known as ASD. Based on their symptoms and what we've witnessed, ASD is a temporary condition that can occur after someone experiences a very traumatic event. It’s characterized by intense stress reactions, such as panic attacks, difficulty concentrating, and distress triggered by reminders of the trauma, like certain sounds or situations. They
may even feel like they’re ‘losing their mind’ because the trauma has temporarily disrupted their ability to process emotions and reactions normally.” The doctor explained to them Taehyung's situation.

Taniya's heart sank after hearing that. She couldn't believe Taehyung would go through such an experience like that.

“Will it last long?” She asked, feeling bad for her brother.

“Normally, it would last only a month. But if it fails to be treated, he might be diagnosed with PTSD, which can last longer than a month. So I want to assure you that while these symptoms can feel very distressing, ASD is treatable and temporary. With the right support, including therapy such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, they can recover fully and regain their sense of control.” The doctor stated which made Jungkook relieved.

“Thank you for the information, doc.” Jungkook thanked the doctor.

“You're welcome, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I’m here to guide you through every step of this process.” The doctor added and Jungkook nodded his head.

The doctor then left the room, and the silence engulfed the room.

“It's much better if Taehyung stays in my house during his treatment. I could provide him the treatment he would need for his recovery.” Jungkook suggested.

“I disagree with that, you're the reason why he was in this situation in the first place. I'd rather watch and take care of him than leave him with you.” Taniya retorted.

“I'm just saying that the environment in my place would make him feel comfortable. We both know how loud the place you have. He'll recover fast if he stays with me.” Jungkook clarified his suggestion.

“Stop acting as his partner anymore, you two mutually ended the relationship you guys have. Besides, he's not your responsibility anymore. Your kindness won't do anything after what you've done to us!” Taniya shot back.

“It doesn't matter whether I'm his partner or not, I just wanted what's good for him.” Jungkook argued.

“No! I'm his guardian in this situation; I had the right to decide what would be good for him. And I believe that he wouldn't do any good if he's with you. You're just going to hurt him as you always do, that's only where you are good at.” Taniya replied mockingly.

Jungkook just stayed silent. Well, he knew arguing with her would be no good, and there was nothing he could do because she was basically right. He understood where she was coming from.
