Ep. 14: Meet The Dawns: Father-Daughter Talks (Pt.2)

*Digger and Spamton were once again away from the group. Instead, Digger wanted to take out her anger on the sparring dummies in the training area. It was healthier than attacking her parents and it didn't come at the cost of destroying the palace.*

Spamton: You still never gave them a [Shot].

Digger: I did. They blew it.

Spamton: I could've explained it [3x Better].

Digger: They still wouldn't have listened. I wish we never ran into them at all. I wish they actually died. None of this would've happened. I wouldn't have to hear Mom gripe and complain about interracial relationships between mystics and non-mystics. I really don't wanna sacrifice what we have just to have a family, Spamton.

Spamton: I know you don't, [Sweetheart]. But how are we going to prove them wrong? How are we going to convince them?

Digger: I don't know. Go no-contact?

Spamton: That's already happened. That was how things [Used Cars] to be between you and them. They only want to [Reunification Process] with you.

Digger: If they really wanted to do that, they wouldn't have been such huge jerks!

*Digger picked up a bundle of hay in a barrel and tossed it at the door, where her father entered. Spamton caught it before it hit him.*

Digger: Why did you block it, Spam? What's he even doing here?

Iann: I just came to apologize for earlier. I didn't fully agree with your mom either.

Digger: Why didn't you say anything? She disrespected my friends.

Iann: Look, I'm really sorry, Danielle. I couldn't speak up against her. I never have been able to.

Digger: What do you mean you never were able to?

Iann: She is... Well, she's just too much of a "girlboss" as the kids say it. Politically, she's more of a radfem or a FemiNazi. She's even very abusive.

Spamton: She [Used] you?

Digger: Why didn't you get out sooner?

Iann: It's a long story but, I failed to see the warning signs. I was drawn to how ambitious she was and she needed someone to help her become commander of the royal guard. She was always talking about the kind of life we would have as soon as they promoted her. But those dreams got the best of her as soon as she achieved them. We married young because I thought we had the same goals. But she only got worse after that. I was too afraid to get help, Danielle. She only wanted to be promoted to take down anyone who wasn't a mystic. You know what we always say about powerful mystics. Power always corrupts and she was already too far gone to be saved.

Iann: Anyway, word soon got out about us expecting a kid and that angered the king. He didn't want one of his best warriors weighed down by such a burden. I had a feeling he would've done something to her so, I told her to look into early retirement. She managed to resign before the pregnancy became super noticeable and we waited it put until you finally came along. Not long after you were born, she talked to me about having you put to death because the doctors said there wouldn't be a way to cure any mental disabilities. Not only is she racist, but she's ableist as well. I convinced her to let me take you somewhere safe because I didn't want you growing up with such a horrible person. She only wanted to find you to see if you were anything like her. There are some parts of her that I can see. I'm just glad you're not as big of a prick.

Digger: Why did she want me to be like her? Does she think I'll be able to continue her conquests?

Iann: I believe so. She wants you to follow in her footsteps. She has tried that with several other kids we've had. I had to stop them before they started a war we wouldn't be able to win.
